Slightly Known People was formed as a sketch comedy group in the summer of 2003, and began performing in April, 2004. SKP writes and performs original musical and non-musical sketches ranging from the awkward and confusing to the dark and foreboding. The five group members collaborate on writing, directing, and performing all material.
Since its inception, SKP has performed in venues all over New York City, attracting a large following and gaining critical acclaim. The New York Press named SKP as a Critic's Pick in the November 17th issue, noting that its "sketches are well-written and performed with precision." Slightly Known People are Erik Bowie, Melissa DeLancey, Stuart Luth, Dan Maccarone, and Josh Mertz. They come from all walks of life, including Ohio.
