Sounds Like
a touch of The Chieftains; mixed with a touch of the David Grisman Quintet; mixed with a smattering of The New Grass Revival; throw in some Beatles tossed with a dash of Union Station or Nickel Creek. And the Waterboys.

ORANGE COUNTY,
2004 AND 2005 NOMINATED FOR BEST FOLK ACT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!
WHO ARE WE? Sligo Rags--a Celtic-oriented ensemble comprised of accomplished and versatile musicians. We are an upbeat, energetic collection of acoustic musicians and vocalists with a extensive repertoire of original, traditional, and cover tunes. Each of us is classically trained, and we have chosen to appy that training to various music forms. While we specialize in Irish and Celtic music, our song list contains tunes ranging into the bluegrass, country, jazz and swing realms as well. The members of the band also play in country, bluegrass, and jazz bands, but we share a love of Irish music and tradition. We pride ourselves on strong musicianship, powerful vocal harmonies, and engaging stage demeanor. Our Celtic sounds have graced many stages large and small, filling concert halls, Irish Fairs and Festivals, concerts on the green, pubs galore, and even the occasional private back-yard function. *SLIGO RAGS WAS NAMED THE BEST FOLK BAND IN ORANGE COUNTY AT THE 2004 AND 2005 ORANGE COUNTY MUSIC AWARDS. *Our name is a tribute to the Celtic anthem "The Irish Rover," whose third verse begins "We had one million bags of the best Sligo Rags."
Thanks for everything -- you guys were so generous, it was a true pleasure to open your show today. Here's that "What If the Beatles Were Irish" medley I mentioned: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=aFjH4ZqwOB4
