Sounds Like
Traditional country music, with a splash of classic sounding rock and pop thrown in for a little diversity and taste.
Formed in Atlanta GA in 1986, Slim Chance & the Convicts are considered to be the Fathers of Atlanta's Redneck Underground. We were the first band to play original country music (and choice covers) in the local rock and alternative music clubs, and over the years built a following that covered all walks of life. We like to think we were instrumental in making it cool to like real country music, even for the hipsters. Through several lineup changes, the band has remained true to it's original vision - to play the type of music we liked, with as much sincerity and skill as we could muster, but also with a sense of humor and fun. We are embarking on the 20th anniversary world tour this year, and as long as we are having a good time we will keep playing.
We have recorded three albums:
"Letters To Mama" (1993), available only on cassette and long out of print,
"Twang Peaks" (1996) on Evolutionary records, some copies still available,
"The Dark Side of the MoonPie" (2006) brand spankin' new and available.

Great show Saturday, fellas. Had a great time. I've been to a few of ya'll's shows and this was my favorite. Really enjoying "Twang Peaks" this week too.
Man SLIM... you cats are even better than we remember! Awesome set with Alesha, and when yawl were throwin' down, that bar was hoppin'! Hope the patrons rewarded yawl with some cash, cuz you guys are the BEST! The girls I was hangin' with were sooooo stimulated during your set, that my nut sack got groped under the bar by an unexpected groupie! AWESOME SLIM! YOU DEVILS ARE THE BEST! And the ladies are diggin' it too!!!
Hey Slim, it's too bad you have your own gig on 6/23, maybe next year we can get you to play the Bow Wow Bash and help people release their inner redneck. Come by early if you can, this party starts at 4.
Hey JK, I took a Abnormal Psych class that you taught at Georgia State, good to see that you still have the band together. The new tracks sound cool. Keep it up.
Do you like Bonnie Raitt but don't have tickets to her Apr 26th Classic Center Show? Excellent! Come check me out instead at The Melting Point this Thursday @ 8:00 pm. Then you can stick around for the very entertaining "King Cotton."
God we're good! In case you couldn't tell, all I ever really wanna do is recapture those crazy days at the Buffet. That'll never happen so I try and make sure I play purty for the people. Thanks friend.
