Jazzy, soulful and melodic, Slimkid3 has re-emerged onto the hip hop scene with a new band, a new album and a diverse musical soundscape all his own. Formerly of the legendary L.A. hip hop group The Pharcyde (known for their innovative style, humorous and off-beat lyrical imagery, and infectious beats), Tre Hardson is now exploring the boundaries of hip hop as a solo artist, replacing the standard industry format of drum machines and sampled beats with live instrumentation and collaborations with some of music's most adventurous and expressive performers such as spoken-word artists Saul Williams and Gaknew of Fresh City, as well as MC Lyte, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Kim Hill (Black Eyed Peas), and N'Dea Davenport (Brand New Heavies) to name a few. His 2002 record, "Liberation," (released under his given name, Tre Hardson) pushes these boundaries with a personal lyrical examination of life, love, evolution and music, while showcasing the well-crafted rhymes, thoughtful lyrics and rich vocal delivery that brought him acclaim with The Pharcyde. His follow-up album, "Slimkid3's Cafe," is in stores now and Hardson -- along with his live band -- perform regularly throughout the U.S. and Europe. Check back for tour information and updates.
