July 20, 1960 - May 25, 2007
Look for some changes on the myspace pages soon. I will be adding some of Scott's writings on the Slim the Drifter site via the blog. Updates on the new improved re-release of the Trio CD "The Guilty Ten" will be posted on the Slim the Drifter Trio site. News concerning the 2 CD set that spans Slim's career will be avaliable on the Slim the Drifter/AKA Scott site. On my own site, which can be accessed through any of the above friends list, I have started my blog that will cover some general stuff and I hope to share some memories of Scott's last years.
Check in on occassion and see what's happening and please be patient if I'm a little or pathetically slow at posting some times. Deborah
MyHotCommentsDear Deb, Thank you so much for remembering Kelly, and us yesterday, and now today I'm sending you back those same wishes, I'm thinking of you, and Scott and what a good friend he was, I know that you miss him terribly. And thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are the only one, who even wrote me or mentioned Kelly's memorial, that means so much! Take care, I really do hope to meet you one day. Love, Cathy
I believed in studying just because I knew education was a privilege. It was the discipline of study, to get into the habit of doing something that you don't want to do. Wynton Marsalis
Ive known scott since the rain makers. What a great comic sense and a soul that scott had. Last time I saw him he was sober and we hugged and said we loved each other. I love you still scott and the world is far less artistic . You were before your time. You were always ahead of life. I hope you have a nice place in heavan. Save a seat for me. If not . We all wind up in the dirt. Ill be glad I met you before I take the road you have. Respect scott. Love always your friend for life J.R. Goldman . I just heard the news today.
it’s been five minutes and I already miss it the spirit of Col. James B. Beam and three generations past cheaper taste and older angels next year I’m moving to plastic bottles six miles from some city in a country western song a long way from ditching my regrets loosing bets and luckier by the minute a tire full of dreams now riding on the rim thirteen hours on a grave yard shift I missed it when the clerk slipped me the Southern Comfort tomorrow that man will meet his maker or give me the right poison in exchange for that candy handyman hater, when I sleep the sun’s shining buyin’ my time with coupons and gift recipts chairman of the skateboard on a blood donor budget feeling the pinch when I’m too sick to work the first in line…wait…no that was someone else a wealth of knowledge but most of it’s useless writing backwards so I remember where it came from Dang Jerome…It’s been a long day
Jerome- 06/27/07 Written for Slim the Drifter. One of my five friends. Thankyou Slim, Thanks for having that clerk slip the Southern Comfort into the bag, or I would have never made it to the tribute show.
Miss you Scott. Thanks for talking to me on the phone. Thank you for the wonderful music that you made. When I listen to it/play and sing your songs I know that you are there. Thank you for everything. Vaya con Dios.
