Dwight Schenk is known to some as a drummer. To others as a screamer. To some as a crazy guy who does something wearing a lavender spandex unitard. Some know Dwight for his beard. A few people know his comics and graphic novels. There's a dozen or so people who know Dwight as a songwriter. His family knows him as the eccentric one. Others know Dwight for his short films and video editing skills. Some people wanted to know Dwight as a sculptor, but that hasn't come about... yet. Dwight is not known for his poetry, and that is good, cause it stinks. 239 people know Dwight as a producer. 45 Spanish people know Dwight for his inappropriate jokes. Dwight knows Dwight as himself.
Thank's for the add. I enjoy for your music. Today i learn something. Krapp( The last tape of Samuell Beckett) is also a Canadian and he is surely you. i read your history on your blog. It's amazing!
Nice review of Sappyfest in Exclaim Magazine 'Over at Uncle Larry's, Dwight Schenk woke up the mid-afternoon crowd with his unique slurry of Beefheart-esque blues freak-outs and bone-bare slow jams'
Dwight my face book is fucked up. The drums have been confirmed bring breakables and we are groovy. sound check is at 730 but feel free to show up at 8
I wanted to send you a big hug and much gratitude for your hospitality, your generosity and your inspiration and talent. I've been listening to your CD a whole heap since I got home and have been showing it off to friends who all are blown away with your huge voice and wonderfully intricate and special compositions. It was so fun staying with you (Toronto was perhaps one of the only towns we felt we could have stayed for quite a while longer, partly because of the fantastic company!). I have some great video footage of you guys I plan on putting up soon (sounds great). Your music was so beautiful at the TRANZAC: such a shame there weren't kazillions of people watching, but for me, it doesn't matter, because your performance stuck with me. Great music and a great guy.
And BTW -- Great News: AUX is coming to Rogers Digital Cable this fall as a full-fledged music channel. If you love our lineup now, you won't believe what we've got in the works!
