After many years, bands and locations, the lifleong friends and fuckups of SLITSTITCH finally converged into the thrashing shitstorm they are today. The story goes... Way back in the day, Nekro and Skinny C played in DINGBAT. They played for years, with various lineup changes, until they broke up. They even recorded some songs which, although hard to find, are fucking gems. (You can hear SLITSTITCH perform the song "f-chord" at shows.) Bob just hung aroud, writing shitty songs on his own and jamming with everybody else, trying to get a band together but never having it work out. Fast forward. Bob, Nekro and Skinny C had been playing together for years. Their close friend Nate moved back into the area and joined in on bass. Fed up with how watered down and superficial rock (and especially punk and all it's bazillion fucking spinoffs) had become, sick of wasting time in the rat race of american life, and sharing a deep passion for music, they formed a band. Bob and Skinny C played guitar and shared vocals, with Nate on bass and Nekro on drums. Everything came together, and temporarily calling the group DINGBAT, they started writing songs and planning gigs. However, just before this painful boil on the ass of the rock scene came to a head, Skinny C tragically passed away. Keeping his memory alive and channeling their pain into music, the band stuck together, dubbing themselves SLITSTITCH. Eventually the lineup changed, with new bass player Becky jumping in. No more bullshit, just flat out balls. That's our story. We're kicking things into high fucking gear - going for the squishy little baby inside and stomping it into the ground. We're not rock stars or wannabees. We don't feel the need to nail ourselves to any particualr "style" in order to write a fucking song. We aren't the next big thing, we don't prance around like idiots or have any fucking gimmicks to sell you on, and we certainly don't dress the part. We aren't heavy enough for the hardcore gorilla crowd, and we're way too thrashy for the pukie bubble gum kids; so even though we're apparently screwed from the get go, at least we play our snide little hearts bloody. In fatc, even if we fuck it all up, we're still gonna pound this shit out. If you're expecting more than that, either go listen to the goddamn radio or try and come up with one reason we should give a fuck what you think of us. If not, leave the bullshit behind and we'll see you assholes at the show.
