Pants Yell! join Team Slumberland for latest album
Lovely, literate pop from this excellent Boston band. This superb album features some of their best song-writing to date and, dare we say, rocks. In nine songs and 26 minutes they make a greater emotional impact than an album twice as long and at double the volume. This is pop that doesn't need to raise its voice or shake its fist; it wins you with its mind and its heart. If you dig Felt, Belle & Sebastian or Go-Betweens be sure to check this out.

Frankie Rose delivers debut solo single
Haunting pop from Brooklyn's Frankie Rose. Timeless music that recalls the ghosts of 60s girl group sounds, Brill Building songwriters and the 80s/90s/00s continuum of Black Tambourine, The Aislers Set and her previous groups Vivian Girls and Crystal Stilts. Pitchfork cited her song "Where Do You Run To?" as one of the best of 2008, and now with much anticipation we are excited to bring you Frankie's debut 7". Recorded at Marlborough Farms Studio with Gary Olson, Kyle Forrester and Crystal Stilts' J.B. Townsend, "Thee Only One" is a perfect slice of surf-tinged noise-pop.

First solo record since 1995 for Gregory Webster
Lovely 12-string folk-pop from one of out all-time favorite artists. From Razorcuts to Saturn V to Sportique, Mr. Webster has always delivered the goods, and we're pleased as punch to have this understated gem of a single on Slumberland. Simplicity rules throughout, complementing the naked honestly of the songwriting. Gregory's signature 12 string sound is augmented by haunting harmonium accompaniment from The Birthday Girl (Vatican Cellars) and beautifully uplifting vocal flourishes provided by Pam Perry of Slumberland's own legendary Black Tambourine.

Sarandon and The Membranes proclaim Death To Trad Rock!
The Membranes noisy post-punk classic gets a 2009 re-rub from Sarandon - dig the howling chaos. To sweeten the deal we've put the 1984 original on the flip. This insane noise was a key part of the 80s underground and a crucial complement to the smart pop being released by labels like Pink and Creation, and we're very pleased to be able to bring you a small, influential slice of it. Death to trad rock!

Sic Alps roll up new limited 7"
60s-flavored fuzz and crackle from the Sic Alps garage. Two ace folk/beat hip-swingers, including a cover of Donovan's "Superlungs." As straightforwardly "pop" as anything they've done, and a totally effective summertime single. On the flip we get a banging cover of Donovan's ode to puff -- "Superlungs." Wild and thumping, Matt and Mike have definitely taken the Sunshine Superman on a little side trip to Detroit rock city.

Brown Recluse's long-awaited 12" is here!
The Soft Skin was recorded in mid-2007; after some delays with the original release, we're very excited to be able to bring it you on Slumberland Records. The four songs show an increasingly confident full-band line-up stretching out and reaching a new plateau. A pastoral, psychedelic vibe permeates the EP, bringing to mind the sunshine pop of Curt Boettcher's The Millennium/Sagittarius projects, and such familiar touchstones as Brian Wilson, Belle & Sebastian, The Clientele and the Elephant 6 collective.

Searching For The Now rolls on
Our Searching For The Now series continues with Volume 5, an excellent all-Swedish edition. The note-perfect C86 girl-pop of Liechtenstein makes a great complement for the feedback-driven buzz-pop of The Faintest Ideas on the flip. Three great songs on cream/black swirl vinyl.
Volume 6 continues to fire on all cylinders with this excellent UK pairing. On the a-side we find Welsh pop mavens The School, with a smashing cover of late Left Banke tune "And Suddenly." George Washington Brown creates pastoral, psychedelic power-pop, and his two songs on this split single are brand new and exclusive. Pressed on grey/black swirl vinyl.

The Champagne Socialists release debut single
Totally ace 60s-flavored girl group power pop from ex-members of The Royal We and Bricolage. Coming on like Sparks produced by Joe Meek and Phil Spector, the band has a flair for echoey three minute symphonies, marrying classic pop melodies with punk-informed crunch and glam-infused 70s stomp. Blue Genes is their first release and it's a pretty flawless statement of intent for this sharp new band.

Liechtenstein seek survival strategies
Brilliant pop with post-punk influences, connecting the dots between The Mo-Dettes, Dolly Mixture and The Aislers Set. With the nine song Survival Strategies, Liechtenstein not only deliver the spooky harmonies and loping basslines that earned their singles such critical attention, but also stretch out into realms they only hinted at before.

About Slumberland
Slumberland began operations in 1989, inspired by such musical happenings as C-86, early Creation, Sarah, Postcard, and the UK post-punk indie label scene. Since then we've covered a lot of territory, from punk to lofi noise to shoegaze and of course pop, releasing records from bands like The Aislers Set, Boyracer, Stereolab, Rocketship, Lorelei, The Ropers, The Saturday People, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Black Tambourine and too many more to mention. We're dedicated to quality tunes and an independent outlook, and hope to come up with even more great releases as we approach our twentieth anniversary.

We are looking for label to publish album. Yellow Brick Road - а new band from Belarus. Band was founded in 2009 by musicians, who played more than 5 years in different popular Belarusian bands. The first EP appeared on 12th of April 2009 at 2 months has been downloaded over 10000 times and, in such a short time, YBR become the winners of the International Festival “Rock-Line 2009”, where played for 30,000 people Yellow Brick Road is a magic element from the beloved children's book “The Wizard of Oz”. Dorothy is a young girl, who wants to get back to her world. The Wizard of Oz, who lives in the Emerald City, is the only one who can help her. The road to this city is paved with yellow brick. On her way Dorothy meets charming, but brainless Scarecrow, rusty Tin Woodman without a heart, and Cowardly Lion. All together they begin their trip to the Wizard hoping to get what they need: The Scarecrow wants to get a brain, the Tin Woodman wants a heart, and the Cowardly Lion - courage. At the end of August this year, Yellow Brick Road releases the first album “12 stories” and conducted a tour to present it in Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
