Slyte of Hand (formerly French Toast) Theres more to this trio than meets the eye! A wall of sound is created by 3 musicians playing hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, Celtic harp, viola, hammered dulcimer, pennywhistle, mandolin, guitar, bodhran, spoons, chalumeau, and 3-part vocals. Ever changing and incredibly diverse, Slyte of Hand continually morphs the music into breathtaking arrangements and pure stellar musicianship. Slyte of Hand is a Delaware-based band that plays Celtic, Traditional & French Breton music, and teaches the dances that accompany the music. They have played on the air live with Gene Shay on WXPN in Philadelphia, PA, performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival in 2002 & 2005, the Cincinnati Celtic Festival 2002 & 2003, and numerous events, festivals, museums, and pubs across the east coast. Members of Slyte of Hand have performed concerts with national recording artists Maggie Sansone and Ken Kolodner, as well as 2-time Ireland Meteor Award Winner John Spillane. Slyte of Hand is a versatile band that consists of three dynamic members:
Michele McCann: hurdy-gurdy, pennywhistle, chalumeau, guitar, mandolin, bodhran, spoons, assorted percussion, vocals.
Jon Kmetz: bagpipes, viola, recorder, guitar,assorted percussion, vocals.
Bill Russell: harp, mandolin, guitar, hammered dulcimer, vocals, original songwriter.
