I will watch almost anything except for cheesy sci-fi B movies (unless it's by way of MST3K). If I ever joined NetFlix, I would never get another thing done in my life. I don't remember the last movie I saw in the theater. I think it might have been Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (which I loved).
I don't watch much television, but when I do it's usually something on Discovery, FoodTV, The History Channel, or PBS. Currently, Between the Lions is my favorite show. ;) I love Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and anything with Alton Brown. We usually have Signing Time! playing on the television for Sophie, so there isn't much time for anything else.
Books
I don't remember the last book I read that wasn't about parenting. Prior to that it was knitting, and before that it was low-carbing. I honestly do not recall the last book I read. I used to lock myself in my room and read all the time, but haven't done that in years.

About me: I have avoided creating a myspace account for long enough, but I haven't decided if I'll blog here or not. I have another blog and profile elsewhere that are open to the public.
The short story: I grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan and lived there most of my life (maiden name Ping for those interested). I've lived other places as well (Minnesota, Illinois, Massachusetts, etc.) and am now in Texas. I hate summers here, but there's not much I can do about it at the moment.
I used to be a Lutheran school teacher in a previous lifetime. When I tired of teaching I turned to the wonderful world of computers. I am a self proclaimed geek and love all sorts of gadgety type things. I no longer work but stay home to take care of our beautiful daughter.
I love to knit, cook, bake, listen to music, watch movies, garden, and more. I am on the crunchy side of things, though not totally over the edge just yet. I am a grammar fascist but make mistakes (look at all my sentences starting with "I!"). I have been married twice, and the second time is for good.
That's me in a nutshell. The long version is located in the other profile.
Who I'd like to meet: Old friends and familiar faces are the main reason I caved, but I'm on board with making new friends as well. One can never have too many friends!
Yeah it was the sleepyheads photo. It was soooo cute. And lazy looking.
I did start a new job. On the 1st. Its ok. Its definitely slower paced than what I am used to. I am so used to everything needing to be done RIGHT NOW. But at this job its not like that. Everything needs to get done but there is not the urgency that I am used to.
Well, hopefully you will get a better schedule next time around. But, at least it is a job and you are making some money now. :-)
I'll be there July 15 - 29. I can not wait. Got a real good deal on the tickets. Just 209 each. Nothing compared the the 362 I was looking at. :-)
I am going to hate going back to work and leaving Lorelli. It has been so nice just spending time with her. Even if she is a terrible two this week. I don't even know who she is lately...it's been horrible. But I still love spending time with her.
Oh that's right...you have a new job...how's it going? How are you dealing with leaving Sophie at home? Hope everything is great. And of course we will get together. I am forecasting NO snow that prohibited it some last time. And I am hoping Lorelli does not get sick last time. And I am renting a car so my mother can not have a cow because I am using hers!!! :-)
Dunno if Benjamin has told you or not...but I am coming home on July 15 for two weeks. I know that he took some time off and I was hoping we could take some time and get a play date together.
