SMACK!!! Smack are the newest Rock band to entertain Ireland! They are a cover's band of the highest order, a good time is a certainty with these Devils!! This band are unlike any other and cover a wide range of music to satisfy any Rockers taste. Being a 3 piece for most bands is a problem but for SMACK, it's one of their strengths!! The musicianship is second to none and the band more than meet any and all expectations. Brain Grace is one of the premier guitar players in Ireland and has been for some time. With an impressive CV including, Rob Strong, Juliet Turner, Laura Izibor, Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), The Vibe for Philo, to name a few. Brian continues to push the boundaries of guitar playing with a touch and feel unmatched by many in the world! Tommy "Lenny" Leonard is also highly regarded on the Irish circuit. A fantastic drummer and singer of huge ability and power with a touch that belies the pace and sheer thunder with which he plays. Damien Dempsey, Ditch Cassidy and many more have all had this genius behind them. Finally on lead vocal and bass, it's Paul Toal. Paul has recently returned from a very successful 2 year tenure in LA, wowing crowds anywhere from 100 to 27,000 with his powerhouse vocal and driving bass slant. Paul has played with artists such as Nice Inch Nails, Fuel, Paul Bushnell, Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy) and many more. This hugely experienced line up is impossible to top or equal! Hi Smack! Heaven & Earth is on hiatus now as Stuart Smith and Richie Onori have joined forces with bassist Steve Priest to reform "Sweet". For those of you unfamiliar with the band, Sweet originally formed in the early 70s and went on to sell over 40,000,000 albums with 11 International Top Ten Hits such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Little Willy", "Love is Like Oxygen", "Fox on the Run", "Teenage Rampage", "Action", "Blockbuster", "Hellraiser" and many others.
This reincarnation of the band reformed last year, playing their first show in June, and went on to play festivals throughout Canada and the States and had played to over 300,000 people before the year was out. During this tour last year they recorded a live CD available on Amazon entitled "Sweet, Live in America" which has received rave reviews - pick up a copy and please Add Sweet As Your Friend On Myspace!
