Small Dot Complex came to fruition in 2001. Originally taking cues from goth, industrial, ambient, and movie scores, the early output of SDC was an attempt to create music of mood rather than adhere to any strict sense of structure. Today SDC maintains these principles, but also experiments with song structure and simple melodies.
At its heart, SDC will always be a project of experimentation. The latest album, Spies Amongst the Stars, explores science fiction themes set to simple melodies, dark moods, and ethereal atmospheres.
Every time that we listen & write music... play an instrument... sing & dance... act in a play... or work in some audio/image/video engineering process... something is healing inside...
