Small Reactions play something akin to indie rock with tinges of new wave and post punk. They have been together since 2005 and have played somewhere in the vicinity of 105 shows or so (give or take a couple.... there are a few they don't want to talk about...). With an average of 45 minutes on stage per show, they have amassed approximately 4, 725 minutes of playing music to an audience. They continue to add to those minutes, and would love to see you in the audience when they do.
Comprised of Clinton Callahan (bass/vocals), Scotty Hoffman (guitar/vocals), and Sean Zearfoss (drums), the band attempts to meld a pop-laden, dance-worthy sound with an energetic and memorable live show. Always in the moment, the "most dashingly good looking band in East Atlanta" --as they are know in some circles-- seeks to find a balance between tightly composed structures and spontaneity. With that in mind, songs are never played the exact same way twice and setlists are unique each time out. If you would like to hold them to that, you should attend their shows regularly and keep tabs. Some brave patrons in the East Atlanta area are already taking them up on that offer.
"Small Reactions play art punk ala Television/Wire without ever coming across as pretentious, and write extremely catchy pop songs without ever sounding square. Normally, bands described as “fun” are either debaucherous or a bunch of dorks, but these guys are neither. They play with un-jaded enthusiasm and handle their instruments like gentlemen. And fairly new to the Atlanta scene they are already in high demand. Recently (and regrettably) having to turn down an opening slot with local heroes the all night drug prowling wolves to open for touring act Art Brut."

"There were three bands on the bill. The always good Princeton and a first one called Small Reactions who were really really good too. I was thanking all the bands at the end of the show and suddenly got very paranoid that I had got Small Reactions name wrong. I managed to convince myself that they were called Tiny Feelings and everytime I mentioned Small Reactions I felt ashamed that I was getting their name wrong. Paranoid, I came offstage at the end of our set and the first thing I said to our tour manager Ed was "Small Reaction?" Double checking I had got their name right. He misunderstood though and replied "Nah man, big reaction I think the crowd really got into it." I had loads of fun. I cant wait to back in Atlanta again.
-Eddie Argos, Art Brut.
