Smash Riley plays originals that combine their love of rock, grooves, ‘60s soul, old jazz, and good songs in general. Singer/songwriter Jennifer Cook is known for her amazing voice, shining stage presence, and rapport with the audience. One observer described her as “Sheryl Crow meets Jessica Rabbit.” An audience member from her SXSW showcase wrote, “Cool original songs and a voice like an angel in heat.” Drums and backing vocals are by Julio Figueroa, “the freakin’ Puerto Rican” and a man everyone on the planet loves. Nathan Lynch, bass, is the deceptively quiet one. Seth Forster, guitar, is a guitar instructor and gifted, versatile player who recently moved to Austin from Indiana.
