About me:

Smiles Change Lives is a nonprofit organization that delivers life-changing, medically necessary orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families. Since its inception, the program has served more than 1,000 youth across the nation and Smiles Change Lives has emerged as the nation's leader in providing access to orthodontic care for underserved youth.

Smiles Change Lives engages orthodontists, volunteers and investors to provide orthodontic care for kids suffering from severe malocclusions (misaligned teeth and jaws). Children with poor oral health and disfigurements encounter tremendous social and economic discrimination, as well as a much higher risk for serious diseases. Research connects poor oral health with diabetes, stroke, heart disease and pancreatic cancer.

In addition, young people who endure daily ridicule from their peers are more likely to withdraw socially and academically, limiting their future success in the classroom and at work. Research has proven that physically attractive workers will earn 10-15% more than workers of below-average physical appearance across all professions. A healthy smile should not be a privilege!
