Hello people I'm Smileymic and I'm a live-looper and effectively a modern day one man band. Not unlike a hip-hop D.J would use samples and vinyl to make a beat, I create each loop by playing several instruments into a loop pedal to perform whole arrangements live on stage.
The way I see it I like different styles of music so I play different styles of music. I play some acoustic singer songwriter stuff, I play drum and bass style stuff I play hip-hop style beats with some funk thrown in. I play guitar, bass, glockenspiel, trigger drums via my mac, beatbox (although I do not class myself as a beatboxer) and loop vocals into harmonies. I mix all of these elements together in the hope that I can put on a good live show. The music industry has changed so much in the last five years with iTunes and downloading and myspace making it so easy to get out there but makes getting signed as a musician tougher than ever because there are so many people out there trying to do just that. So I wanna concentrate on being able to play a good show and enjoy doing that.
So if you have a venue or even a party to play then get in touch cos I wanna perform where ever there are good people to play to.
