About me: Since 1995 we've taken great pride in building some of the finest acoustic drums made today. From our selection of Maple, Birch and exotic wood shells, to our meticulous twenty-seven step finishes, each and every Smith drum is painstakingly produced by hand to create a musical instrument with a character and tonal depth all its own. And, as for appearance, our drums speak for themselves.
That's because our philosophy in building drums is a bit different than most. While other manufacturers are satisfied with standardized product lines, Smith's nearly limitless combinations of shell materials, sizes, weights and finishes make each and every drum we build truly custom in every respect. And, by combining the best of precision design and manufacturing with careful hand-artisanship, the final result is a drum that reflects the sound and taste of the drummer, and not the other way around ...
Who I'd like to meet: Musicians who care about about the sound, look and feel of their instrument... and not just the logo on their kick drum. In fact, if you're an established touring player, a drummer with an up-and-coming band or artist, or a player simply looking for some of the finest drums made today... we'd love to hear from you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's just a partial list of Smith Endorsers:
PETE McNEAL (Mike Doughty, LA Studio),
BRIAN DUNNE (Average White Band, NY Studio),
DENA TAURIELLO (Antigone Rising, Lisa Loeb),
WES LITTLE (Billy Dean, Nashville & NY Studio),
CONNOR MEEHAN (Sonya Kitchell),
MATT CHRISTOPHER (LivinTrust),
TYGER MACNEAL (Jose Feliciano),
MARK MACK (James Cotton),
JERRY PORTER (Buddy Guy)
... and other great drummers!
