Smith Music Group is Texas' leading Country Music record label. Formed by Rick Smith in 1998 with the release of albums by Texas upstart Pat Green & Country legend Merle Haggard, the series has gone on to include the Grammy Award winning outfit, Asleep at the Wheel, Oklahoma country-rockers Cross Canadian Ragweed, hardcore troubadour David Allan Coe, and one of Country Music's newest stars, the Randy Rogers Band. In 2003, Smith Entertainment Records was launched. This new label has helped usher in the new age of independent artist distribution. With a promotion staff dealing directly with retail, radio, and the world wide web, the artist can take their music to the world, without having to venture to Nashville, Los Angeles, or New York.
In 2004, the Smith Entertainment Digital Imprint was launched. One of the first digital record labels of its kind, SE-Digital is quickly becoming a Texas artist's first step into the world of digital retail and onto websites such as iTunes, Napster, MSN Music Store, and many more.

Texas beaches need your help. Last week state Rep. Wayne Christian pulled a sly move in the legislature and created an exception to the Texas Open Beaches Act that allows him and his neighbors on Bolivar Peninsula to build houses on the PUBLIC BEACH.
This is bad news.
