Before this gets typed up I just wanna say there ain't much to say, ya dig, just a few things about the label and the time line, don't get all hyped up over this novel ya heard, now let's get into it. This label began when Shane "MC Shane" Butler had the idea to start it on May 25th, 2007. Shane brought in his best friend Michael "Money Mic" Lozada to co-own it with him. The first artist they had brought in was Money Mic's younger brother, who had a dispute later on leading to his departure from the team. After that, The MC decided to pursue local artists, first group he went after was Delinquents: Problem Child, Murda Mic and J-Studa, 3 long time friends of Shane. After they decided to join the label things got crackin. About 8 months later they decided to part ways which led to the acquisition of another Holyoke, MA based group, Currency Clique. The group, consisting of 4 members: Durty Money$ (C.C General/Pres.), Murda Ma$$ (C.C General), Dolo and Blackmike became a part of the SMLB Official Roster on May 5, 2008. Along the way SMLB got connected with artists such as Blocksmith and 6ix00 out of Michigan. Since then the grind has been in full gear, not expecting to stop anytime soon, moves are being made! Look out for the new chapter in the history books. Watch out for mixtapes, music, new tracks, and all that. Keep them eyes wide, and don't sleep!
