WHO THE HELL IS SMOKEY WILSON?
Smokey Wilson is a singer-songwriter cowboy who lives
alone on his fourth-generation family ranch outside of Cuero,
Texas (one of the starting points of the Chisholm Trail).
He has been writing and performing music,
including his original songs, for many years. From
The Strip in Las Vegas to Lukenbach, Texas, Smokey can
"git er done".
Smokey blends upbeat Texas music/Southern Rock/Country
with a bluesy sound. The result is fun music for listening
or dancing. He can fill a room single handed with his
voice, guitar, and harmonica or can include his 4 or 5
piece dance and show band.
Smokey is the recipient of the prestigious
MyTexasMusic's "Entertainer of the Year" award.His
latest release "I'm Cheap" off of the CD
"Back to the Roadhouse", is already being
played on several stations across the country and in Canada and Germany.
Smokey has shared the stage with such notables as
Freddie King, Johnny Bush, Pear Ratz, Highspeed Hayride, Mike
Blakely, Diamond Rio, Davin James, Jarrod Birmingham, Jack Ingram, and a host of
others.

Well with two years of some horrible weather, and an average year of attendance last year, the Party in the Pasture has fallen on some hard times just like the economy. Well we all said the hell with that! If you got a good thing, you don’t let it fade away. And with Smokey putting his soul behind this thing for the last 11 years, it was the least we could do ta give him a hand. So that’s just what were doing. For years the proceeds of the event have gone to charity, well this year that charity is the event itself. So with no money, some good friends, Some great artist willing to give there time, and a beautiful piece of God’s Country, let throw one hell of a party and see if we can keep a South Texas tradition alive!!!
