The Smokin' Ladyfingers have been kicking around central Victoria for the last four years, playing just about everywhere from Colbinabbin to Collingwood.
Their original blues/roots tunes catch the essence of some of the coolest music from the past 40 years, yet they don't really sound like anyone else around these days.
With diverse influences such as The Beatles, Motorhead, U2 and Ravi Shankar....go figure.
Also, they're one of the few bands left in the world that aren't afraid to have a sense of humour.
To build on the adage 'Out of nothing, there will come something,' the Ladyfingers constantly trip over the fine line of genius and stupidity with stunning results.
Five stars (*****)
