Smoky Ridge came about in the fall of 2008 as some friends just getting together to pick music, it became clear that they should take the next step and form a band. Though relatively new to the local scene Smoky Ridge is quickly gaining fans and most members are not new to bluegrass. When you hear Smoky Ridge you will hear traditional bluegrass along with newer bluegrass popular today and even some traditional country with a bluegrass twist. Smoky Ridge is also proud to be the house band for Shirley's Restaurant in Hampton, Tennesse. Member Jeff Sharpe can be found in the kitchen cooking right up until showtime for his boss and mom (the most well known lady in Carter County) Shirley Sharpe. Not only does Shirley's offer GREAT family style country cooking but it is truly a family affair there. Along with Miss Shirley you will find her husband Grant and Jeff's wife Angie working hard for their customers.
