SNAFU PODCAST
Away from the main city centre rabble, with our deliberately subtle signage, Snafu manages to avoid the cliché crowds. We exist not for the masses, but instead meet the needs of a smaller eclectic and music savvy circle who are looking for more from their night out. The people who work at Snafu are all as up for it and passionate about music as we are, which makes all our jobs that bit more enjoyable. Our ethos is to provide Aberdeen with a venue showcasing the very best in local DJs and bands, as well as bringing some of the most exciting international artists on the scene, and with a capacity of only 380 Snafu consistently punches above its weight as far as special guest DJs are concerned.
Nestled at the Castlegate end of Aberdeen’s historic mile-long Union Street, our little boutique 380 capacity nightspot is the premiere destination if your into your alternative electronic sounds and live gigs. Snafu is where you will always find some of the finest, freshest, dopest djs and live bands around regularly dropping in from right across the globe and where the cream of the local djs can also be found spinning.
A heady combination of great music, superb drinks list, and a cooler-vibed-crowd of people in an environment that just oozes atmosphere is what makes us stand head above shoulders in this industry and is just a few of the reasons we were crowned Scottish Nightclub of the Year in 2007, then again we reached the finals in 2008 along with winning both Gold Best Bar None 2007 & 2008, overall Gold Winner Club Award (BBN) and Best Late Night Bar in Scotland.
With our ever increasing status as a top quality music venue, not for the masses but for you people out there – you know who you are, Snafu has also become the favorite for the hosting great afterparties for some of the bigger shows that come to Aberdeen from time. LCD Soundsystem, Ian Brown, Mylo, the Rakes, The Streets, Hot Chip and The Rolling Stones (steady on now!!) have all dropped into Snafu after their gigs, not only for a great party to remember but also knowing they will be well looked after.
We also run our own Snafu Magazine [ www.snafumagazine.com ].
Check out our main website [ www.clubsnafu.com ] for more info/tickets/contact details.
Click on the picture above at any time to reach our website where you can get chatting on our forum, purchase tickets and check out our gallery.
We also have our very own Snafu Magazine which you will find in most good shops aroung the city containing venue listings, reviews, free things, art and, well...other good stuff. Snafu Mag Myspace
