Nestled at the Castlegate end of Aberdeen’s historic mile-long Union Street, our little boutique nightspot is the premiere destination for a wide array of electronic and live sounds and is the place in Aberdeen where you will always find some of the finest djs and acts dropping in from across the globe, announced and unannounced.
A combination of great music, superb drinks list,
and a cooler-vibed-crowd of people in an environment that just oozes atmosphere is just a few of the reasons we were placed in the top 3 nightspots in Scotland for 2006 and became the crowned winner of Scottish Nightclub of the Year in 2007.
With our ever increasing status as a top quality music venue as well as a 'bam' free zone, Snafu has also become thee venue of choice for hosting great afterparties for some of the bigger shows that come to Aberdeen from time to time, with bands the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Ian Brown, Mylo, the Rakes, The Streets and The rolling Stones (steady on now) all dropping in after their gigs for a party, knowing they will be well looked after.
Snafu is about continually pushing new music and ideas, continually evolving whilst continually punching above our weight with global spinners, indeed global Dj/Producer legends the likes of Juan Atkins (USA), Xpress 2 (10 deck setup), Prins Thomas & Lindstrom, Layo & Bushwaka, Jon Carter, Dave Clarke, Cassius (Dj set), Felix Da Housecat, Jacques Lu Cont (Les Rythmes Digitales), James Lavelle (Unkle), Groove Armada, Crazy P, Kevin Saunderson, Mr C, Louie Vega, Gilles Peterson, Derrick Carter, Lottie & Rob Da Bank, Greenvelvet, Simian Mobile Disco, a dj set from the Fun Lovin' Criminals and an ever increasing portfolio of quality residents that have all added to help create the renowned Snafu vibe.
Also creating waves on the live music & comedy scenes, the likes of Soil & Pimp Sessions from Japan, Calvin Harris, Errors, The Rumblestrips, Lady Sovereign, Crazy P, 20:20 Soundsystem, The Needles, Barbara Tucker, The View & the Greenskeepers amongst many others have hit the stage, along with a vast weekly selection of up and coming local and national bands and comedy acts.

Kerri Chandler’s Southport Weekender CD – win a copy!
The latest CD I want to let you know about is a real beauty. Don’t know if you’ve ever been to the Southport Weekender, but it’s one of the finest dance music events in the UK. Bringing together the world’s top soulful DJs, from house legends like Tony Humphries, to jazz bods such as Gilles Peterson, and urban heads like Steve Sutherland, the event almost always sells out to thousands of clued-up, enthusiastic music fans.
One of the Southport favourites is deep house maestro Kerri Chandler, and he’s been drafted in to mix Volume 6 of the event’s compilation series. Featuring well-loved favourites from Ben Westbeech and Peven Everett, classics such as Hardrive’s ‘Just Believe’ and upfront cuts from the likes of Quentin Harris, and of course Kerri himself.
You know the score – click the link below to check out the tracklistings and for your chance to win a copy!
