South western french label Snakebite Productions is well known for its dedication to the Death metal and Brutal Death scene, having supported regional bands such as Necrocult, Ossuaire, Gomory or the french Bloodshed, and having done gigs with such big names as Kronos, Disgorge (Mex) or Insidious Decrepancy.
In 2006, the label thought it was the time to remind people that France is not just Massacra, and decided to create the 1st Death Metal fest in south-western France in more than a decade. The bands featured were Gorod, Necrocult, Ossuaire, Evilness and Ouroboros. This was an hard task, but it was fucking done, and it was the proof that there was a demand for an extreme and sick gathering of Metalheads in the South-West as 250 insane fuckers came to bang their heads!!

Now in 2007, we have decided to strike harder with this time 10 Brutal bands and 2 days of Fest!!! The goal is to create an annual reunion of the most morbid and brutal Death Metal fans in France (or elsewhere : we're not far from Spain, after all...), and to give them what they want...So come, and show your support to your Underground : this Fest is YOUR Fest!!! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SCENE!!! SUPPORT UNDERGROUND DEATH METAL!!!

[VERSION FRANCAISE]

Salut, ici Fabien membre co-fondateur du label Death Metal du Sud-ouest (Toulouse) SNAKEBITE PRODUCTIONS & Distribution.

Label dont la création remonte à mai 2002 avec la sortie de sa 1ère production, le Mcd Critical Perspective du groupe Ouroboros(FRA) Brutal crushing death de Toulouse puis la création de son site internet (www.snakebiteprod.com). Le label se compose alors à l'époque de 4 membres (Ash, Adrien, Eric & moi même). Sort en mars 2003 le Mcd Warped in the Macabre du groupe Bloodshed(FRA) Brutal death Macabre de Béziers et en octobre de la même année le 1er album du groupe Necrocult(FRA) Brutal Black/death de St Sulpice. En mai 2004 le label se lance dans l'organisation de concerts & en juin se sépare d'Ad. Sort en octobre le 1er album Destruction & Misery du groupe GOMORY(FRA) Brutal Death/thrash de Fronton. En octobre 2005 sort le 1er album March of the Undead du groupe Bloodshed (Death Macabre - Béziers). Suite à l'echec des ventes de cette dernière production malgré une large promotion le label marque alors une pause dans la production jusqu'à ce jour. En mai 2006 Eric & Ash se sépare du label.

En octobre 2006 le label marque sa présence sur myspace & marque les esprits métalliques du sud-ouest avec la 1ère édition du SNAKEBITE FESTIVAL (festival underground de métal extrême ayant lieu chaque année à Toulouse depuis 2006). Par une promotion massive dans le sud de la France celui ci augmentera grandement la réputation du nom du label & tissera encore plus un lien solide avec toute la scène métal française.

En avril 2009 Abellion (photographe officiel SNAKEBITE) & Chris (spécialiste en distribution) viennent officiellement renforcer les rangs du label. Fin 2009 marquera la reprise de la branche production du label. A suivre...
