”Snakecharm” is the first solo-album of Pekka “Rekku” Rechardt, a key member, composer and the guitarist of the legendary Finnish rock-group Wigwam. The long awaited debut brings us fresh new elements and goes beyond the genre-expectations of how the Wigwam-guitarist's solo-project should sound like.
The main principle in Snakecharm´s world is to create a musical spell. Though it´s an album by one of Finland´s leading guitar players it´s not full of yawning solos. The rhythm section of Snakecharm makes a meditative ground where the aggressive rock-riffs and psychedelic / oriental soundscapes take turns with the style characteristic of Mr.Rechardt. However, the real highpoint is singer Marika Liuski (ex. Five Fifteen etc.) who sings like she´s been a snakecharmer since the day she was born.
The music and the lyrics are all by Rekku Rechardt and the album was produced by him and Petri Majuri. You can hear echoes of Wigwam-feelings, but all in all Snakecharm sounds like a tight band of its own kind. Each song makes a kind of a spell and the feeling is very uplifting in the end.

Thanks for the add Rekku. I really like your playing, I find myself often listen to the old Wigwam´s album..I think that Wigwam was one of the most important group that ever get out of scandinavia. My favorite album is Lucky Golden Stripes and Starpose really good songs on that one. Take care and keep up the good work.
