Snake Eyes
In the late 90s Wizard Oz had a vison of what he wanted to create this was Snake Eyes.
On Dec 5 the bed tracks were laid for 'The Journey Begins...' . Recording was in the spring of 1999 and it was mixed soon after. The CD was shipped to Quebec for production in July 1999 and August 6 marked the release of Snake Eyes' debut CD 'The Journey Begins..' in select stores in Canada and Dublin Ireland. The Journey Goes Live...... Snake Eyes began by playing local shows at clubs in the Vancouver area. The energy level was high and the live show was something to be seen. Some of the nightclubs they played were : Champagnes , Studebakers, The Columbia Hotel, The Brickyard and The Cobalt. All prominent local clubs. March 2nd 2001 marked the Bands first Television appearance on the VTV Breakfast show, which included playing Dream Girl and new song Anonymous live . That same night they played a headline show at the Brickyard Club, which is one of Vancouvers premier Metal Clubs. It was time to take the show to Europe.
So Oz returned once more to England to negotiate a deal .Unfortunately, in the end, the rest of the band were unable to commit to this and he was forced to search for a whole new, European, line-up. Whilst this was a serious set-back, it afforded him the opportunity to jam with a wealth of talented British musicians..........and a fellow Canadian. Pete Friesen ( Alice Cooper, The Almighty and Bruce Dickinson) both of which also boast the impressive talents of Les Binks (ex- Judas Priest) on the drums. The UK lineup are all musicians who work together really well. They are also great mates and the chemistry transfers from the stage into the audience in a very positive way. Although this is a band with its roots in good old fashioned "Metal "they blend a distinct NWOBHM and Power Metal flavour with a style of their own. Halford style vocals, grinding riffs and more shred than Robertson's. Headbangingly great stuffVocalist, Ant Meachen, introduced to Oz by guitarist, Jamie Hunt from "Biomechanical". Ant has a really powerful "Halford" - like voice that can burst eardrums and break glass. On drums is Mike Ellis with, and completing the new line up is bass player Dave De La Haye. The bands first video "The Wizards Curse", shot at an old church ruin in England is currently being aired on "Scuzz TV" and generating a lot of interest. Hopefully it will also be on "MTV" soon."Burnout" and " The Wizards Curse" were also performed recently for a new TV show called"Un- signed UK" which is intended to go out on the national ITV network.The live show includes a compendium of effects, atmospheric keyboard intros and smoke machines and a giant castle backdrop similar to one used by "Ozzy Osbourne" which was specially imported from the USA by "Wizard Oz" for the very powerful" Snake Eyes" stage show.The "Snake Eyes" stage show is exuberant and full of energy which is enhanced by the use of wireless vocal and guitar transmitters. The Band has been touring the UK playing at some of the well known Northern Clubs and was also invited to play at the well known "Marquee Club" in London's Leicester Square, and also The Ruskins Arms in London home of Iron Maiden. Former members include Robin Eaglestone (Cradle Of Filth), Tony Ritchie (Balance Of Power) and Steve Brine (Intense) all were bass players. The Journey Begins and Soul Stealer have been selling in the UK, Germany and Japan and North America through Independant disrtibutors.
Recently the band made it in the top 8 bands at the Kerrang Live UK competetion, out of 100s of entries, and got a chance to play live at THE KERRANG Live/Mcn bike meet at Skegness april 2008.
Snake Eyes Soul Stealer released Feb 2008 10 tracks and includes The Wizards Cusre video. Recorded and mixed in the Uk, mastered in Vancouver Canada by Commodore Perry Barret, produced by Wizard Oz.

Good old nwobhm with full throttle. Great songs with good vocals and great guitarwork. This album kiks ass. Check this one out!!!
