I am a "Jill of all Trades." (I've tried to do a little of everything, or so it often seems). Hey, get your head out of the gutter! ... as far as you know... ;) I am very well rounded, literally and figuratively. Obviously, I have a good sense of humor! :)

I perform with Assembly Line Winter Guard (a senior guard full of exceptionally talented individuals!) :-D I've been performing with them for 20+ years (ever since "the beginning.")

My boyfriend, Keith, and I have 9 beautiful snakes living with us: 2 Dumeril's boas (Pubu & Jing), 3 corn snakes (Spot, Fred & "name2Bdetermined"), 2 western hognoses (Harley and "name2Bdetermined" and 2 wild-caught black rat snakes (Salty & Little Guy (who needs a better name)). (R.I.P Ginger :( She was meant to be Fred's mate, but instead she went to that big field in the sky 14Feb2008)

Not only do we have snakes as "children," we rescue snakes (as volunteers). If someone (in the triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, etc) has an unwanted snake in their yard, we'll relocate the snake to a new location. I AM an amateur herpetologist-wannabee. In a few weeks I will resume my training to be an official wildlife rehabilitation volunteer for the state of North Carolina.

(Note: Keith & I are both currently employed as chemists).

We're both Disturbed fans (ha! again, literally and figuratively), fans of SlipKnoT, KoRn, Marilyn Manson, Dope, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Sour, etc ...... most Heavy metal and alternative bands (I've just named a few that you've probably heard of).

We were at the Mayham Festival ... FRONT ROW CENTER!!! in Virginia Beach 01Aug2008!! The show was GREAT! It was our first time getting to see Slipknot and our 3rd time seeing Disturbed!

We're both members of ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts)... Currently we share the same favorite roller coaster: Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg!

We have both been practicing t'ai chi since 1995. (Lately, we need to PRACTICE MORE!)

I AM (actually, I WAS) registered Libertarian (before the party was removed from the ballots). Keith & I both believe in freedom of choices (meaning it's nobody's business what you or I do as long as we're not harming other people... and if you want to argue the definition of a person... remember that we are both scientists... BY CHOICE!) ;-D

The video that I used to have playing on this site is "I AM" by Dope. You remember Popeye's favorite saying "I Yam what I Yam, and that's all I Yam!" :) It's my favorite saying, as well. (I just had to change the song. As much as I love the song, it was starting to grow old on me, and I don't want that to happen!)

    OK, the White & Nerdy did fit me too well... and the song and video both STILL ABSOLUTELY crack me up!!! HOWEVER, I got tired of hearing the song every time I visited my own page... so I figured it was time to let it rest (at least for a while).     FYI: A few definitions for you

    OT9 means Outside The Nine. That's Slipknot's official fanclub.
    Slipknot fans are called maggots, (kind of like deadheads for Grateful Dead fans and Parrotheads for Jimmy Buffet fans).

    I'll listen to and enjoy almost anything... except Country music... although I have been known to DANCE (clog and/or square dance) to blue grass music!

    I especially LOVE heavy metal (all versions). I've mentioned versions only because there are some fools out there who feel compelled to label every different style of metal music. I often see annoyingly subjective statements such as "nu metal is not real metal," "death metal is the only real metal," and other ignorant crap like that. In each "sub-genre" of metal, there are songs I love and songs I hate.

    Thanks to my older brother, I've been listening to metal since I was about 4 years old. (Yes, now subtract 4 from my current age!) With more than 30 years of "metal experience" I feel that I have the self-granted authority to say:

    "F*** LABELS and enjoy the music! IT'S ALL GOOD!"

    People trip out when they look at my CD collection: Disturbed, Korn, Slipknot, Tool, The Little Mermaid soundtrack, Metallica, Megadeth, Madonna, Faith No More, Ozzy, Tchaikovsky, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Mussorgsky, Scatterbrains, The Ramones, etc... etc... etc... You get the picture! :-D
