About me:
Hi! Welcome to my space on the web! I figured this would be a good way to network as I build my portfolio.
I have been active in photography for around nineteen years, now. I am self taught aside from two years of photography in school. I know how to anticipate the moments a mother will want to cherish, how to grab that moment of vulnerability and see inside of another person and pull that person out. I know how to fall in love with life around me and have the ability to frame what I see and prepare it to be shared and treasured for time.
I do many different kinds of photography: maternity, infant, child, family, senior, couples, and discreet. My style is photojournalistic. I also work primarily with natural lighting. I can come to your home or meet you in a favorite place. I am also willing to make visits to the hospital to get your newborns first photos. I have been published in a college publication, photographed seven weddings, graduation photos, tons of children's photos, discreet photos, portraiture, maternity. I prefer natural lighting over anything manmade.
At this time, I am building an official portfolio of work and my rates will reflect this for the time being. I give each photo shoot my very best and try to accomodate my subject's wishes. I also have an assistant for more complicated shoots. If you are wondering if I will attempt to take your photos, all you have to do is ask. I am friendly, compassionate, passionate, and creative (my uncle has lumped me in as 'an artist').

On a personal note, I am mother to five fantastic children. They are my life. We returned to the Iron Range after living in Duluth and the cities for five years. In Apple Valley, I operated my own inhome daycare for three years, before that I was a personal care attendant to two special needs girls for two years. So...I work well with children!
