Its late... The darkening sky forces you into a bar. The crowd is ready to burst, the support act must have been cooking. Three young guys set up their gear, which looks like it could belong to their grandparents. The trio explode into action and start working on grooves that take the crowd from an island beach party, to a smoky, funky blues dance and beyond. The refreshed vintage tones infect everyone with rhythm and joy. New and old these people have come for the Sneaky Weasel Gang.
Dan Carroll, Bryn Stanford and Jason Bale make up electric trio that is SWG. They've been around the ropes a few times now having played over 300 shows, including several independent tours and festival billings including West and East coast Blues and Roots, Rollercoaster, Island Vibes and Wave Rock Weekender amoung many others. SWG enjoy music from many places but choose play any combination of blues/ funk/ reggae and rock whilst still holding a root in all four. For an independent, West Australian band of 21yr old mates, these guys really have something.
What the reviewers have to say..
Sneaky Weasel Gang have indeed honed their skills as one of the finest Blues acts to come out of WA. Bodyslide Blues does incredible justice to this hard working trio from Mandurah. Hearing such solid blues is rare nowadays and for any fan of the genre this record will be a refreshing look back to artists the calibre of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and John Mayall. The guitar work of vocalist and guitarist Dan Carroll is perfectly supported by the scintillating bass of Jason Bale and the light and shade of drummer Bryn Stanford. They take us on a journey of dreams, passion and honest talent.
Awesome job at the Railway Hotel last night guys. Fremantle loves you and you know it. And we're the best crowd ever and we know it. Together, we are rockin'. Come back and play for us again soon!
