Millions of viewers enjoyed Snow Urbin as one of the most memorable contestants on the FOX smash hit, So You Think You Can Dance and she has continued to make her mark in Hollywood, appearing in Madonna’s VH1 special, I'm Gonna Tell You a Secret and Disney’s film, Enchanted, currently in theaters.

The music video world has also shown its love for Urbin, featuring her in videos such as Shakira’s Hips Don't Lie, with Wyclef Jean; Paul Oakenfold’s Faster Kill Pussycat, with Brittany Murphy; and Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around Comes Around.

Prior to landing in Hollywood, Urbin overcame a lifetime of challenges. She was born in Siberia, Russia and at the age of three, had already enrolled in ballet, modern, folk and jazz classes, with her acclaimed choreographer mother guiding her. Practicing a grueling four to six hours a day, Urbin excelled at Latin and ballroom dancing and began competing in ballroom dance at the age of five. She was already the Russian Juvenile Junior in ballroom and Latin champion by the time she and her dance partner were discovered and invited to train in the U.S. for Olympic sport. While in America, she maintained a successful amateur career, winning the U.S. Youth Latin championship and competing in the Ohio State Ball, Manhattan Classic and Amateur Latin Championship. Urbin was also honored to represent the U.S. at the World Latin DanceSport Championships on four occasions.

After years of training, Urbin’s dreams were shattered when the Olympic Committee decided not to approve ballroom dancing as an Olympic sport and her dance partner decided to quit.

Urbin went through a depression but overcame it when she began to teach children and work at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, where she became a top-ranking teacher in New York. She eventually taught kids at additional schools including Rising Stars Academy, where she met Dancing with the Stars’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The two became dance partners and began to compete—with great success

Known for her unique and dynamic fusion of styles, Urbin has appeared in numerous national commercials for major brands like Honda and AT&T; theater productions; music videos and films. She is currently on tour with Dancing With The Stars as well as recording her music for her debut album. Urbin's passion to inspire lives worldwide is what drives her to take on meaningful projects.
