Adam McLellan (AKA Snug) discovered his interest in writing music at a young age. At the time he was taking piano lessons but was finding himself bored with the idea of playing other people's music. He soon started experimenting with his own ideas and had his first encounter with a sequencer.
In the mid 90s he was introduced to electronic music by way of Ottawa's university radio stations. This immediately sent his ideas in a new direction. By this point music production software was evolving rapidly and he was quick to adopt it as a vital element of his process.
A few years later - circa 1998 - he was introduced to Ottawa's rave scene. He soon became an active member in the scene, both as a DJ and a promoter. This level of exposure to electronic music gave his own productions a boost, and had a strong influence on his ideas and direction.
Through the years Adam has also learned to play many other instruments, including guitar, bass and drums. In the process of learning these new instruments he also learned all about recording and mixing them, and started incorporating them into his own productions.
Today Adam spends much of his time in the studio working on solo material or collaborating with others on side-projects, such as The Wax and Machina Analytica.
