Everything, Now!
"Spatially Severed" CD
MFT Records

Some call it “space gospel.” Others say “artichoke rock.” One thing is for sure, in their sixth year, and on their fifth album, Everything, Now! is on top of their game. On “Spatially Severed”, E,N! brings their delirious mixture of insane psych-pop melody, hero worship, and obtuse hidden meanings into their most accessible form. These 16 parables are disguised as commercialized space-age pop gems for the ADD generation.

Man At Arms
"A Waste Of Time And Space" CD
Joyful Noise

Expanding in all directions, Man At Arms continues in their musical explorations of repetition, concision, dynamic shifts and stagnancy. Recommended for fans of The Minutemen's "Paranoid Time", Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" & Space Ghost Coast To Coast.

Richard Cranium
S/T CD EP
Self-Released

Richard Cranium is a band of prodigies. This young band, based in Chicago and Indianapolis, fuse together hyperactive drumming with chord driven bass to create a lush and dynamic rhythm section that anchors angular psychedelic guitar sounds and dissonant textures. Their debut EP is a testament to their rawking live show. If you are a fan of Don Caballero, Hella, Tera Melos, Maps & Atlases, or anything else that tastefully pushes the limits of drummer's limbs and guitarist's fingers - give this album a listen. It will not disappoint.

I Love You
"Drone, Drugs, and Harmony" CD EP
Self-Released

When most people say 'I Love You', they want to hear the same three little words back. But when this Kansas City, Missouri duo says their name, they want you to listen. And stare. Combining noisy DIY punk with thumpin' dub bass, pop sensibility, and layer after layer of polyrhythmic guitar and percussion, 'I Love You' has been blowing minds and melting faces across the nation with the songs from their newest album, Drone, Drugs and Harmony.

Pravada
"Manus Plere" CD
MFT Records

Indianapolis-based Pravada has been creating their unique stream of atmospheric pop for four years now, and after many delays we are lucky enough to see their near perfect debut album "Manus Plere" become a physical reality. Throughout their history the band has featured a rotating cast of characters, always including shared members from Pravada's "sister" band Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos (Epic Records). Pravada has developed a sound that is difficult to pin point: pop-laden, atmospheric, epic, fun, emotional, and meticulously detailed; not terribly similar to any one band, but distinctly and wholly indie-rock if there is truly such a thing.

Sump Pumps
"Revenge of the..." CD
8 Bit Records

Anti-wave, post-punk quartet specializing in high-energy, ass-kicking anthems and frenzied pop. Inspired by such late-seventies outfits as Devo, Ramones and Motorhead, as well as more recent bands like Brainiac, Six Finger Satellite and the Jesus Lizard, Revenge... showcases one of the Midwest's most interesting bands at the top of their game.

A Caesar Holiday
"A Caesar Holiday" CD
Self-Released

An honest and inspired interpretation of post-rock and avant-garde, this mostly instrumental album puts experimental rock in touch with instrumental and vocal harmony -- seamlessly combining sweet-sounding melodies and prog-rock structure, and creating a sound akin to the likes of Slint, June of 44, Mogwai, or Explosions In The Sky, yet remarkably their own.

Various Artists
"Defunct Indiana" CD
Joyful Noise Recordings/MFT Records

Containing seventeen indie, experimental, and hardcore artists from Indiana's past, Defunct Indiana compiles some of the best music from all Indiana based, now-defunct bands - including: Usurp Synapse, America Owns The Moon, Ativin, Majhas, BIGBIGcar, Melk the g6-49, Manners For Husbands, Mara'Akate, Fabric, Intro To Airlift, Ari Ari, Sardina, and more.

The Delicious
"The Delicious" CD
Self-Released

With accessibility and sincerity as its goals, The Delicious craft quirky, power-pop anthems that shift time and genres on a dime. RIYL: Of Montreal, The Pixies, The Unicorns, The Walkmen, Weezer.

Lafcadio
"Kibosh" CD
Joyful Noise Recordings

Powerfully regulated, densely organized wall-of-sound style metal and delirious, spasming, often sublime experimentation braiding together in an insane double helix of truly inspired rock music. RIYL: Melvins, US Maple, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.

Prizzy Prizzy Please
"S/T" CD
Let's Pretend Records

Shout-along party anthems loaded with unbridled irreverence. The clever instrumentation is a ferocious jubilee, managing to seamlessly meld stadium rock and garage punk inside the cast of traditional pop song structures. For fans of Talking Heads, They Might Be Giants, Fugazi, and The Unicorns.

Various Artists
Russian Recording's "We Just Call It Roulette Vol. 1" CD
Self-Released

The first of an annual series of compilations released by Indiana based recording studio, Russian Recording. Artists include Racebannon, The Coke Dares, Turn Pale, Abner Trio, Push Pull, Gentleman Caller, Lucky Pineapple, STATE, Thousand Arrows, and others.

Push-Pull
"3" CD EP
Joyful Noise Recordings

Push-Pull probe areas untouched by The Wipers, King Crimson, Big Star, or Shellac - simultaneously offending, repelling, seducing, and violating the music snobs of our time.

"A cross between the spazztastic Transformer Lootbag, and aggro Polvo, and Haymarkey Riot... a blast." — Copper Press

"Like Ian MacKaye fronting The Descendants... yea, that damn good." — Ghettoblaster

Grampall Jookabox
"Scientific Cricket" CD
Joyful Noise Recordings

Enter the private, brightly infantile, electrically sanctified world of Grampall Jookabox's idiot-savant folk-rock. Complex choral crescendos, jungle drums, box-car lo-fi, and bubble-gum-acid-pop combine!

"[Grampall Jookabox's] new album is the sonic kin of Beck's early efforts, but with more focus and no fiddling attempts at hip-hop. The best tracks on here are clattering beauties, mixing the pair's off-kilter ideas with smart, stripped-down songcraft." — Amplifier Magazine

Child Bite
"Gold Thriller" CD EP
Joyful Noise Recordings

Sophisticated noise-pop with enough time changes and feedback layering to please hipsters and experimental rockers alike.

"Spastic rock not unlike Brainiac and Deerhoof. Fully frantic and at times trying, Gold Thriller is an energizing art-rock primer for the band's upcoming full-length." — Paste

   About Soapbox Promotion
Soapbox Promotion exists as a vehicle for the advancement of what we view to be truly unique records. Offering our services at a fraction of the cost of our competitors, Soapbox Promotion is exactly what other promotional companies are not. We exist to promote independent music we love with modest prices and genuine results.

The albums we choose to promote are those in the highest echelon of outside-the-mainstream music. We work with artists we love because we believe it is important to whole-heartedly endorse every album we work. Life it too short to promote shitty music. Preferred genres include indie-arthouse-guitarfunk, progressive grind-folk, and convulsive-dance noise-pop. Not to mention good ol’ indie-rock.

Some artists we have worked with in the past include Child Bite, Stationary Odyssey, Sump Pumps, Melk the G6-49, Prizzy Prizzy Please, A Caesar Holiday, Grampall Jookabox, Lafcadio, The Delicious, Push-Pull, BIGBIGcar, Abner Trio, Man At Arms and more.

Some places we have received reviews and features in the past include Paste, National Public Radio, Pitchfork Media, CMJ, Losing Today, Ghettoblaster, Stylus Magazine, All Music Guide, Skyscraper, Copper Press, Aiding & Abetting, Real Detroit Weekly, Detour, Delusions of Adequacy, Paper Thin Walls, Verbicide, Smother, PunkNews.org, Read Magazine, 75 or Less, The Current, 30 Music, The Phantom Tollbooth, INtake, Pop Matters, 1340 Mag, Nuvo, Wonkavision, Indieville, Foxy Digitalis, Amplifier Magazine, Splendid, Ground and Sky, Expose', CD Reviews.com, Dagger, Razorcake, Babysue, Exclaim!, HM, Bandoppler Magazine, Ink 19, Prick Magazine, Evil Needles, Kronic, Exoduster, and many more.

What We Do:

Press promotion: Soapbox specializes in genre-specific press campaigns for any and all outside-the-mainstream music. Servicing anywhere from 50 to 400 press outlets and free-lance journalists, we are able to tailor each campaign to the needs of the client. Our strength is in our ability to give more bang for your buck by creating promotional models which are designed specifically for the records we promote. Small or large, our press promotion shows results – and at about half the cost of our competitors!

Radio promotion: Soapbox directly services the top ranked independent and college radio stations in North America – giving your album optimum attention to listeners who appreciate something more than Nickelback and Creed.

Tour Promotion: Tour press can be the best way to fill those smoky nightspots. Soapbox services numerous weekly city-papers throughout the United States. When working a tour-press campaign we push for reviews and features to be incorporated into show previews – which have the tendency to increase turn-outs and create awareness for your band like no other.

Co-Op Advertising: Smart advertising plans geared specifically at the publications with which we are seeking coverage. This option will focus your advertising budget for maximum results. Our amazing design team will create an ad exclusively for your release, and we will in turn place the ad with the very publications which will be reviewing your album. This option drastically improves the attention your album will receive.

Dear All,

This project is coming along nicely. We have dug a little hole and plucked down a seed-lurker that is growing mature and erect. We have a deal of bands and sponsors that are throwing down heavy for this BIA.

Cats are coming out of the woodwork for serious. We have a 30'x45' tent reserved for vendors and we are cleaning out the shed for music all-day. If you are a vendor interested in participating send us a Myspace message immediately or call Chrissy (856) 905-2301. She is in the youth gang, always has been, and is ready to deal. This is her baby so lets make it right.

This be also so very FREE and we gonna raffle things off like coins! Our gift to Indianapolis small business and artists!

If you have a tent, bring it!

MAJOR! GET YOURS!

Best,
