Soca 91.9 (Trinibashment) went on-air at 3pm on 1st October 2004 - promising to play strictly soca from today and yesterday, music that touches the heart and soul of the nation, from kaiso, calypso, rapso, chutney soca, raga soca, and soca,... a promise we keep to this day. Veteran Soca artiste Neil ‘Iwer’ George, a multiple road march and soca monarch winner, is station manager at the Point Fortin-based Trini Bashment radio station, which occupies 91.9 fm on the radio frequency spectrum. According to George there is 35 years of untouched soca music which newcomers to the artform will get a chance to hear.“The generation that is digging (enjoying) soca music right now will get a chance to hear what the music sounded like years ago,” he explained.
