My name is Ajmal Quashie a.k.a Harley. I am a Music Artist / multi-instrumentalist, Bassist, composer and arranger born in the southern part of Trinidad and Tobago, there I grow and was influenced by Calypso / Soca music. I had moved to Toronto Canada and worked with various bands that played different Genres of music and was fortunate to have worked with Zacki Zanda him being the most prominent at the time in the Genre of Jazz/Calypso Jazz; during that time I had personally met a few named players like George Duke, Stanley Clark, Byron Miller, Sun-Rah and others, these players also influences the way that I think musically.
Today my focus is on the development of this concept where as using a lead Bass in the Genre of Soca Jazz Pop. I had recently released my first CD that will help to promote this Genre. Since the role of bass playing has evolved from it's original function of backing to lead (Stanley Clarks responsibility) I find it quite an interesting concept for Calypso / Soca music. I'm in the early stages of the development and will continue this endeavor.

Hi there A. Quashie first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark www.tthlabel.com so that in the even that we do close our myspace account you will not lose contact with us. Thanks again for being our myspace pal!
Thanks for stopping by and checking up Aj! Good to hear from you. All is going well, very busy & all good. Hope all is good for you too. Have a magical rest of the week! Deepest Respect, Marjorie
Hi AJ Thanks for your message - I've just been travelling recently (to Adelaide, South Australia). I'll post about it in my next blog. Happy Thanksgiving :)
