About me: The Autonomous festival arose out of the weight of oppression in the United States. There are a tangle of laws brought about from individuals seeking to limit the rights of others to make their own lives easier. These levies and restrictions are marketed as laws that will make everyone's lives easier, but in reality only serve minor annoyances of a few. Soon those few die or are appeased, but the laws remain. These fat law books become the tools of law enforcement. Soon there is not a soul remaining who wanted the law, but they remain like levers in a killing machine. Soon the only humans who have reason for these laws to remain are the pilots of the machine. Who would get into this machine? This machine no longer serves anyone. It burns like a fire destroying and only those who enjoy pointless destruction enjoy the machine. Those people are police and our laws are that machine. Our fat law books that create jobs for lawyers and gore for sadists. America was founded on the principles of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. There are more people unhappy today than happy. The good and merciful men and women are being mowed down. How do you fight violence when you wish not to be violent?
The United States has a greater purpose than the trivial insecurities of police officers. The United States is a role model and must lead in order to better serve the Earth. Every time a police officer over steps his boundary. Every time the trust is broken our country is plunged into civil war.
There are options. Get rid of the police force, change the laws to reflect trust and a greater level of responsibility, or stop writing traffic tickets.

Visiting Days for the Public to view the prototype structures: (site is closed during rain) Open House interactive tour, on the first Saturday of every month, starts 10am. Cal-Earth has held these open houses now for over a decade, and every year more people come to experience it for themselves, and to teach their children how to build a sustainable future. Around 11am there is usually an informal talk, in the tradition of architect Nader Khalili, and around 1pm visitors share a pot-luck picnic lunch and talk/network. Cal-Earth associates and apprentices give tours and answer questions throughout the day. Most buildings are wheelchair accessible. Please no pets.
