As you can see, whether an individual or team effort, SoCalPRS is dedicated to researching and documenting the paranormal as well as assisting those in need of assistance. Future investigations will be added to this list. Evidence collected from these investigations will eventually be posted for our members to review.
SoCalPRS consistantly collects solid evidence of the Paranormal: A large number of Class A EVP's, impressive light anomallies and apparitions have been captured on audio, video and film as well as our personal interactions with the spirit world. The Organizers at SoCalPRS realized that the spirit world is attracted to those who are sensitive to their existance and respect their existance. This will continue to allow us to collect future evidence and documentation that will openly be shared with the Paranormal community in the future.
The Southern California Paranormal Research Society was founded by Dan Mewhinney and Sandi Roberts. These two soul mates met and immediately knew their lives were destined to be together. Both Sandi and Dan consider themselves sensitive since birth and have always shared a connection and deep respect for the spirit world. They married in August of 2007.
Dan originally started SOCALPRS in 2006 under the name, The Southern California Paranormal Research Subjects. The name comes from the perspective that, as paranormal investigators, researchers and people living with paranormal problems, the spirit world already know what is going on. We remain relatively clueless, waiting for the day that scientific data will finally confirm what we believe is going on. So, in essence, that makes us research subjects, their research subjects. Dan intended SOCALPRS to be a private support group for families living with the paranormal. It is never easy to live in a haunted situation. It is often difficult to ask for help. Dan hoped, as a private support group, that families living with paranormal problems could get the answers and assistance they need as well as be able to network with other families sharing the same problems. As members of several local paranormal groups, Sandi and Dan both realized their gifts allowed them a different view of the paranormal world around them. Other groups didn't understand their abilities, preferring to stick to strictly scientific methods. As a result, Sandi and Dan knew they needed to start their own group that welcomed those with similar abilities as well as continue to provide a support group for those living with the paranormal. Sandi and Dan wanted bring to the forefront a new vision and a new style of paranormal investigators. Each founder uses his/her sensitive and medium skills to help in the acquisition of scientific data used in documenting various forms of paranormal activity. While many groups push science as the primary tool they use on investigations, SOCALPRS does the opposite. The results are astounding. The team has captured some of the most impressive scientific documentation in a short amount of time.
Combining our natural senses with investigative skills has led to one conclusion: While attempting to assist those living in a haunted situation, the evidence we collect tends to be on a higher caliber than most groups who refuse to include the psychic/sensitive investigators and rely on scientific methods alone. We also have a high success rate in diagnosing and solving the clients paranormal problems This is a win/win scenario, bringing resolutions to those families and individuals living in fear of the paranormal and allowing us to possess a consistently high caliber of EVP's, photographic, video and scientific evidence.
We look at ourselves as Bloodhounds. Science will soon catch up to proving what we sense and feel every day. We tend to personally relate to many of our clients, as a majority are sensitive and aware of the paranormal in the same way we are. We also have a huge amount of respect for the paranormal. Treating these things that go bump in the night as our once human counterparts provides an additional level of understanding on our level as well as theirs. We acknowledge them, treat them with respect and ask permission before any attempts are made to acquire data or scientific evidence. As a result they usually treat us with an equal level of respect and provide the scientific data and documentation we need to help solve the case.

Class A EVP - "I wanna hold"
The Class A EVP "I wanna hold" was recorded by Sandi Roberts at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It is of a little girl spirit saying Sandi's name and asking to hold an stuffed animal that Sandi was placing back on the grave. It is one of the best child EVP's ever recorded. It is being included in the Booth Brothers Documentary, "Children of the Grave" premiering on Sci-Fi in October.

OK. The secret is out. Yes, we did it. We took on the Skeptologists. We know it was risky. We were warned not to do it. We felt it was a great opportunity to address the science and misconceptions with ghost hunting equipment. This is currently a pitch and has NOT been picked up. We're optimistically hoping it will. It was a great opportunity to work with some of the worlds leading scientific minds, performing a paranormal investigation on the Queen Mary. We had some strange things occur during this investigation. We still feel it was worth the risk. Let's work with science to develop better equipment. Let's bring skeptics on our investigations.
