Dr. Jay "De Soca Prince", Canada's most prominent Soca DJ, is proud to call Toronto home. He has taken his Soca mix show from the Caribbean to the U.S. to Canada and more.
Throughout his career, he has received many awards including: Best Soca DJ, Toronto DJ of the Year 98-99, and DJ of the Year in the Flavour Pool. He is also the recipient of the prestigious 2002 UMAC Award for Radio Personality of the Year and is a consecutive three-peat winner of the 2006, 2007, 2008 Stylus Soca DJ of the Year. In 2005 and 2006 he had the honour of receiving the International Soca Award for Best International DJ, an honor which he is nominated for once again.
Every Sunday from 6-9 pm on Toronto's radio station Flow 93.5 FM, Dr. Jay serves up the spiciest rhythms from the Caribbean! With a range of selections from the Caribbean and North America, Dr. Jay mesmerizes his listeners with his selections of the sweet sounds of Calypso, Ringbang, Chutney, Rapso (a mix of rap and calypso), Zouk and of course, hot Soca music.
Be sure to catch Pan Moments, a special segment at 7 p.m. dedicated to the steel pan. And just when you thought it could not get any better, Dr. Jay takes it up a notch with Shock Treatment, a high-energy mix of the hottest Soca, which is not for the faint-of-heart.
