About me:
The BlueGreenEarth / An Talmh Glas collective set up the BlueGreenEarth website 6 weeks before 9/11 to discuss social ecology, via anarchism and the left. In late 2005 we set up a new website for the European Social Ecology Institute (founded 1992).
Anarcho-communists seek to build a society based upon a decentralised federation of autonomous communes and a moneyless 'gift economy'. The movement first emerged in the late 19th century and has had a large influence particularly in Spain, Italy and Russia. Key thikers include Peter Kropotkin and Errico Malatesta.
Empire or Humanity?
What the Classroom Didn't Teach Me about the American Empire
by Howard Zinn
"Religion has no place in schools, as facts have no place in religion" -
Inspector Gary Chalmers, The Simpsons
"And by anarchist spirit I mean that deeply human sentiment, which aims at
the good of all, freedom and justice for all, solidarity and love among
the people; which is not an exclusive characteristic only of self-declared
anarchists, but inspires all people who have a generous heart and an open
mind..." - Errico Malatesta
"Anarchism in its most mature form in the United States, has demanded freedom, not for one individual or one group, but for each and every individual. - Eunice Minette Schuster
"Mankind will not be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest" - Voltaire
"It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education than to have education without common sense." - Robert Green Ingersoll.
"One fundamental goal of any well-crafted indoctrination program is to direct attention elsewhere, away from effective power, its roots, and the disguises it assumes."
- Chomsky, Deterring Democracy, 1992
"Just as the earth itself forms the indispensable ground for the only kind of life we know, providing the sole sustenance of our minds and bodies, so does empirical truth constitute the foundation of higher truths."
- Ed Abbey
"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running and robbing the country. That's our problem."
- Howard Zinn
"The Earth is not dying. It is being killed and the people killing it have names and addresses."
- folksinger Utah Phillips
"If the complexity of our economies is impossible to sustain, our best hope is to start to dismantle them before they collapse."
- George Monbiot
"Is it not already too late if one waits until one is thirsty to begin digging a well?
-Chinese Proverb
"Representative government has broken down. Our politicians represent
not the people who vote for them but the commercial interests who
finance their election campaigns. We have the best politicians that
money can buy."
- Ed Abbey
"The meaningless absurdity of life is the only incontestable knowledge
accessible to man."
- Leo Tolstoy
"It's always going to be difficult to come up with sustainable ways to support our unsustainable lifestyle."
- Charles Whyman, UCal Riverside
"It is a simple thing, this Golden Rule, and all that is required. Political economy and the survival of the fittest can go hang if they say otherwise. What is not good enough for you is not good enough for other men [sic], and there's no more to be said."
- Jack London, People of the Abyss
"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his
government."
- Ed Abbey
"Fascism is capitalism plus murder."
- Upton Sinclair
"How could I look my grandchildren in the eye and say I knew about this and did nothing?"
- Sir David Attenborough, 2006
"As individual fingers we can easily be broken, but all together we make a mighty fist."
- Sitting Bull
"Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell."
- Ed Abbey
"God and Country are an unbeatable team; they break all records for oppression and bloodshed."
- Luis Buñuel
You scored as Atheist, Infidel, Skeptic, Humanist. [HOORAY!] Your beliefs are that of an atheist. It's not a religion as many people seem to think. It's simply the lack of the belief in god and the lack of a religon. Richard Dawkins pointed out that "We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further." Being a skeptic about things lacking evidence is a rational way of life. Being an infidel ussually means you're anti-Christianity and/or anti-Islam. Humanism is atheism with philosophy. Humanists are scientists, environmentalists, strive for peace and being a moral person.
Hilarious or heart-breaking? Humanist or anti-humanist? Whatever you decide, a classic nonetheless

You scored as atheism. You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul.
Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.
You scored as Green. The Green Party believes in an America where decisions are made by the people and not by a few giant corporations. Their environmental goal is a sustainable world where nature and human society co-exist in harmony.
You scored as Realism. Epistemological realism is a metaphysical position maintaining knowledge of an object independent of mind. Realists tend to be skeptics about the full implications of many ideas.
You scored as Epicurean. Epicureanism is named for Epicurus, its founder. While its ends are similar, Epicureanism differs from Stoicism in its methods and its beliefs in the afterlife. Epicureans believe the soul (if it even exists) dies with the body and that no afterlife exists; therefore, one's life on earth if of the utmost importance.
Hey there hun! Just wanted to stop by and show you some love and say thank you for the friend request. Feel free to stop by my page anytime. You can also find me on twitter and facebook!
May I present Lori Fitzgerald, the Lady of Honor of the first (of 50) Funeral Motorcade for the Animals in my 37-states-in-7-months Compassion for Animals Road Expedition (CARE-7). Lori is a well known and long time animal rights activist in the Vancouver area. This first motorcade will be on March 31 - my departure date on the CARE-7 tour. It will start in Downtown Vancouver at 11:30 a.m., and will send me off at the U.S./Canadian border by about 2:30 p.m., thus kick-starting the CARE-7 tour whose purpose is to forge and launch the Global Anti-Hunting Coalition (GAHC).
We still need many more Ladies of Honor for the 50 motorcades, who will uphold similar signs in the back seat of my motorcycle which will lead the motorcades. The schedule of the 50 motorcades is in my profile www. myspace. com/AnthonyMarr. If interested, please contact me directly. Thank you!
In 1600, after 8 years of repeated torture, Giordano Bruno was burnt alive at the stake - for his teaching that the Earth was not fixed at the center of the universe with everything revolving around it, including even the sun; and that the stars were not pin-holes in some sky-vault through which heavenly light shone, but are themselves distant suns around which other planets may revolve. He could have saved himself by recanting, but he steadfastly refused. He basically allowed himself to be burnt - for truth.
During the Vietnam war:
Buddhist monks regularly burned themselves alive - without even a whimper. They gave their lives for peace.
And now, on January 27, Wednesday, 26-year-old Daniel Shaull burnt himself at the Ungar fur store in Portland, Oregon - out of compassion. His last words were: "THE ANIMALS ARE DYING! ANIMALS DYING!" And in empathy, he died with them. No one knows who Daniel Shaull is, so let him personify the self-sacrificial spirit of our movement. We must not let these supreme sacrifices go unlauded. We cannot let these real superheroes die in vain!
Global warming deniers deny global warming, the climate change crisis and its human cause. I have 3 simple questions for them:
1.The Moon's night temperature is -153C; Mars, -142C; Earth's was +3C here last night. Why?
2.Would physicists, chemists and astronomers say that more greenhouse gasses (GHGs) in the atomsphere will trap more heat from the sun?
3.The CO2 concentration in 1880 was 285 ppm; now, it is 387 ppm. Where did the extra 102 ppm come from?
To #1: Mar's is farther from the Sun than the Moon but is warmer because it has an atmosphere with GHGs while the Moon has none. Earth has a much thicker atmosphere than Mars', with even more GHGs. In fact, without global warming, the deniers wouldn't exist.

At the 2008 Animal Rights Conference in DC, my dear friend Charlotte Templeton (MS – Tigerlilly) helped me give away 1,000 copies of my then new (2nd) book [Homo Sapiens! SAVE YOUR EARTH].
I would not give away the books in the street - at $22 list price, the retail total was $22,000 - but the conference was filled with the best of humanity, all ahead of their time. The raising of awareness and action in this audience was immeasurable, and the planet Earth herself is priceless.
My friends in MySpace are also the crème de la crème (I accept about 1 of every 3 friend requests). Now, with the climatic Sword-of-Damocles hanging over our heads, I have decided to give the E-version of the book away to all my 2200 friends. It is a PDF file, so I cannot include it here. If you want it, please email me at Anthony-Marr@HOPE-CARE.org and I will email it to you within 24 hours.
It is a must read - according to those who have read it, and certainly to those who have written it.
2 eggs in a pot of ice water on a stove set on slow heat. Question: When will the eggs begin to feel the heat? Answer: After all the ice cubes have melted off. For as long as there is ice left to melt, the infused heat will go to melting the ice first, not in raising the temperature.
Now imagine the Arctic Ocean as the pot of ice-water. The Big Heat won't come on until all the sea ice have melted in the summer, as early as 2013, then, watch out!
Worse the Big Heat will accelerate the melting of the permafrost and the sea floor methane hydrate deposits, releasing gaseous methane by the billions of tons into the atmosphere, thus kick-starting the dreaded Runaway Global Heating.
Anthony Marr, Founder and President Heal Our Planet Earth (HOPE) Global Anti-Hunting Coalition (GAHC)
Join the Global Anti-Hunting Coalition (GAHC) to bring the weight of the world to bear on the prohunting local governments run by recreational hunters. Hear GAHC founder-president Anthony Marr's plenary speech at the 2009 Animal Rights Conference on his plan to take the state-level Hunter Harassment statutes to federal court for violating the U.S. Constitution:
A few days ago, I, a Canadian, was asked by my friend Candace, an American, what I thought of President Obama. My answer was, "He is infinitely better than Bush, but likely not good enough to save the world." This had led to her new question: "Why does saving the world fall on America's shoulders?" And here is my long standing answer:
1. America has always prided itself to be "the most powerful nation in the world", so use this power for the common good. Follow America's own saying, "With the power comes the responsibility."
2. By volume America and China are the top polluters and GHG emitters in the world; USA & China, at least clean up your own acts!
3. On a per-capita basis, Americans, along with Canadians, are the most rampant consumers of Earth's finite and dwindling resources today, while the average Chinese consumes less than 10% of what an average America/Canadian does; Americans and Canadians, about time to voluntarily cut back!...
The Round Tuit This is a Round Tuit. Guard it with your life, as Tuits are hard to come by especially the round ones. This is an indispensable item. It will help you become a more efficient worker. For years we have heard people say, I'll do it as soon as I get a Round Tuit. Now that you have one, you can accomplish all those things you put aside until you got a Round Tuit!
Best wishes ever, Stephen Richards [Your Mind Power Professional]
