    The band, originally composed of four elements, was established in February 2006 and completed in June with the organic addition of the fifth element, Francys (Giovanni Dal Zotto). In February of the following year, the members of the band met at "Gio Studio" in Vicenza for the recording of the EP "The awakening of madness" and five months later, in Ravenna they recorded a remake of the same EP with new bonus tracks. This period was marked by their participation in various live performances, including concerts at the University of Trento and at the Vicenza Punkarrè festivals. January 2008 saw the official production of the video "Love Comes with Trumpets" and a minitour in Switzerland the following spring with the composition of new pieces including new tuning. By the autumn of that year, recording started for the pieces created at Hate Studio in Rosà, supervised by Maurizio Baggio (Icio) with the final masters edited by Alessandro Vanara Turin. On October 10th, after winning the "The Battle of the Bands" competition organized by Erniball and Rockstar Energy Drink, Social Surplus flew to Copenhagen as the only Italian band to participate in the "Taste of Chaos" world tour. While there, they continued to hone their performing skills, playing as support band for Atreyu, As I Lay Dying, Story of the Year, Mucc, and Horse the Band. The satisfaction gained from the successful performances and the excellent public response made Social Surplus even more confident that they can continue to move forward as they have until now!
