About Society 1

"Society 1 captures the essence of abuse, overkill and ultimate inspiration..."

One of the many quotes that tries to describe what Society 1 has been about since day one of their inception. Love or hate what Society 1 stand for, no one can boast the accomplishments of this band. They have pushed limits that didn't even exist prior to the standards they set in terms of live performance. They have blurred the lines of music versus sexuality to the point of creating new genre's within the adult film world and created an entire philosophy centered around the lyrical messages of Matt "The Lord" Zane, ultimately giving birth to the The Inner Circle symbols and writings.

This band is not ordinary. Society 1 isn't just about music. To look at them as just a band would mean to deny what they actually are, a social experience and cult art statement forcing one to understand that nothing is as it seems.

Society 1 believe in destruction before reconstruction can begin. They believe in opposing the norm and existing beyond the worn paths of those who came before. They are something new by way of synthesis. Society 1 are a separate society that is constantly progressing in ways that defines itself to the point of almost creating an alternate reality.

The music of Society 1 is just the beginning. The doorway that allows you to enter a world so far beyond your conceptions that after setting foot within this other life it grabs you and refuses to let go.
