Edan Dotan and Brian Murnaghan, the originators of this group, met in 2003 at the University of Guelph in the famous South Residence. They have been collaborating since that time and now have a very large repetoire of original material. Sofa King as a group began in Guelph, Ontario in 2006 with drummer Kelly Badger and keyboard/multi-instumentalist Torben Ruddock and have been playing together since.
