Musicians and writers on Sofia's upcoming album have previously worked with such artists as Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, Jessica Simpson, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Ronan Keating, John Mayer and Steely Dan just to name a few.
The daughter of a Mexican Father and a Finnish Mother was born to perform on stage. Her father and her uncle are top musicians touring constantly all over the world. Her sister is a stylist working with some of the best known artists in the world. Sofia has seen it all and has grown into the music business. Her first public appearence as a singer was when she took part of the nationally broadcasted childrens singing competition and the following tour. At the time Sofia was just eight years old. She signed her first record deal with her duet ‘F2F’ at the age of 15 for Universal Music Finland. Before she turned 17 she had already released two singles and made several huge performances, for example a stadion concert for some 40.000 people. In 2005 Sofia carried on with her solo career when she signed a deal with EMI Music Finland. Her first solo single ‘You Know What To Do’ was a huge club and radio hit in Finland. In 2006 Sofia released two more singles and her debut studio album called ‘Disco Mamazida’. The theme song of the album was also a huge hit on the radio and on the dancefloors. The Finnish Dj’s noticed the new talent and Sofia was awarded as ‘The Best Newcomer Of The Year’ in 2006. In 2008 Sofia met internationally acclaimed producer, musician Jan Simons and the result of this collaboration can be heard on Sofia’s next studio album set for release in September 2009.
