There is a certain energy that sparks from being and
drawing in the same space which opens doors and
possibilities.
Soft Blonde Moustache is a collaborative group of four
artists. We are Aileen Murphy, Mary-jo Gilligan, Nessa
Darcy and Julia MacConville. We work create in sound, sculpture, and drawing.
We have been meeting regularly since the beginning of 2008. We share space,
ideas and colouring pencils. During our drawing sessions, we converse, improvise and play; responding to each others marks and ideas. Unpolished and scrappy paper is a starting point for the contour of a line. A harmonious hum or a yelp begins a singing session. Drawings and sounds emerge out of responses. We work together aside from our individual practices not just in order to make art, but to play, interact and exchange.
We have self published a book of our collective drawings and this is available in The Winding Stairs Bookshop in Dublin. Currently we have an installation in the R.I.A. (on Dawson street) as part of "Preponderance of the Small" exhibition with The Douglas Hyde Gallery 3. Maps are available at the desk in the Douglas Hyde Gallery. Please ask library staff in the R.I.A. for binoculars. The show runs until the 31st of October.

WOP.
Pure meditative drone from Europe to the US. There is definitely something happening here, but you wont know what it is. Evelyn War is all about opening doors, this stuff is haunting. Guyute brings bliss out of, guitars, synths, sculpted white noise and field recordings. A sojourn to the other-side.... Hand dubbed on white c37s with contour map labels, cardstock j-card and printed inserts, edition of 40
