the status of the softer boys is as follows:
Jon is keeping himself busy building television stands, modifying suitcases, scooting about the galaxy with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, and making sweet guitar sound in his new band >> Monroe Stahr
Chuck spends his time studying the relationship between quantum mechanics and paint mixing, while trying to perfect his matter/antimatter induction ratio theory so we can gain warp capabilities. I think you'll need to mine some dylithum first, chuck.
Meanwhile, after a lengthy battle with the Zerg, Gabe and Ian said their farewells to Zeratul and Artanis and returned to the Terran homeworld to rejoin the populace. In their celestial travels, they met two fine beings named Derek Gierhan and Sean Higgins, brought them back to earth and formed a band called Barrows.

softer is on hiatus; taking a break; broken up; inactive. whatever words may seem fitting to you, the truth is we're currently, by our own choice, not doing anything. maybe we've lost something we once had, maybe a hard winter and a lack of practice have left us too frustrated to see the good in what we create.
if i could adequately illustrate to you the pangs of being in a band, trying to garner recognition and respect for something we've created which to us, at least, is beautiful and born of truth, than perhaps i could make you understand.
which is not to say that even we fully understand what is happening. personally i will tell you that it's the hardest thing i've ever done, and certainly one of the most painful. trying to gain success in this society so amoral that even it's music is an 'industry' driven by money and sales, and not based at all on artistic creation or original/independant thought. quite honestly it fucking kills me to listen to most of the music that's popular today, and to think about the reasons why it became so.
i have always done my best to keep our vessel afloat without pushing ourselves too hard, or whoreing ourselves for friends and fans.
we have ended up tired, in debt, and frayed to the bone.
thank you to those who listened, and to anyone who ever gave a kind word, our gratitude to you knows no bounds.
