| Band Members | They have been doing it right for nearly ten years now and can rightly claim to be one of the best blues bands anywhere in Asia. And word is getting out around the far-flung world of blues that this band means business.
They have headlined two years or more in a row at both international blues festivals on the islands of Koh Samui and on Phuket, headline the annual Bangkok Blues Festival and rarely miss a billing at the other major music festivals dotted around the region and in Thailand.
The Soi Dog Blues Band is based in Bangkok and front man Jeff T drives his guitar(s) hard and long and sings the blues with a voice often compared to the late blues master John Lee Hooker. Pulling cool, uncluttered and unpretentious licks from the bottom of his boots, Jeff's no-nonsense guitar gets your attention and keeps it right there, while his sidekick Dang is one of the finest young blues guitarists the East has to offer. This kid won't be messed with as he delivers tasty, well thought out lines borrowed from the masters of blues for sure, but executed by this young master with poise and grace and with the ease of a player who has come a long way and still has a long way yet to travel.
The rhythm section these days can barely be matched in local blues circles with fresh young talent Note on drums and Tony on bass, a dynamic duo combining to drive the 'Dogs' hard hitting blues right to the edge of the groove envelope.
Always tight, always ready to surprise and to entertain, the busy band is in ever growing demand to deliver their often ferocious covers of blues classics, cool interpretations of timeless blues masterpieces and collection of originals to get the punters moving with the music wherever they play.
