Welcome to Soixante Neuf...
Soixante-Neuf is a label/promoters set up by North-West band the Uncomfortables in conjunction with Preston venue the Mad Ferret.
Soixante-Neuf runs two nights a month, Club Soixante-Neuf and Acoustic Soup. See below for their different values and perspectives...
Club Soixante-Neuf is dirty and it's where you live. Mainly living on a Saturday night and bringing the finest in left-field voodoo-swamp-blues and beautifully weird sunshine pop music. The best in local and touring acts play Soixante-Neuf. The nights display an eclectic taste in music: everything from Funkadelic to the Fall, from Zoot suit to Art Brut. Acts we've had on in the past include WaveMachines, a.P.A.t.T., the V.C.'s, the Murmurs of Tension, Seven Seals (RIP), the Cubical, the Laze, Sophie's Pigeons.
Acoustic Soup does almost exactly what it says on the tin. Not strictly acoustic, the night is for a wide range of acoustica, whether it be solo artists, folk bands, unplugged sets from full bands. Acoustic Soup is served mainly on one Wednesday a month. Acoustic Soup has featured in the past: Jon Gomm, Butler & Williams, Men Diamler, Dave Rybka & the Victorian Dad Band, Ragtime Sam.
ATTENTION BANDS:
Always looking for leftfield stuff - check out our influences and definitely check out the bands we've had on. We appreciate all from Funkadelic to the Fall.
