Solace in Black was formed in late 2004 from members of shelved and still performing local bands. After a few line-up changes the current members are: Jeff on vocals (Pure Hatred, Buttafuko), Andrew on guitar (Aggression Core), Mike on guitar (Lyranthe, Byaxis, Shadow Demon), Dale on drums (Aggression Core, Agony of Deceit) and Josh on bass (Section 34).
By just their third show they were opening for OVER KILL to a raucous crowd at Studio 7 in Seattle. Several of the members in their former bands have opened shows for the likes of: Testament, Exodus, Skinlab, Death Angel and Metal Church to name a few. These experiences have given the band the ability to go up on stage and tear the roof off. Last February they played to a huge crowd at Studio 7 for KISW Loud and Local's Shredfest 2007 and they have also been featured on streamshot.com's Hot Rocks program with a live interview and three videos with footage from the Shredfest show.
Solace in Black's music can be described as; dark, extremely heavy, progressive at times and also bludgeoning at other times. Influenced by inner crisis and social depravity, the lyrics are meant to draw the listener into their dark and painful world.
Solace in Black have recorded a 3-song, self-produced demo that you can listen to here on their myspace site and their song "Drained" has gotten some airplay on KISW's "Loud and Local" show. SiB are planning on entering the studio with Brian Valentino (Deftones, Soulfly, Evanescence, Drown Mary, 2 Headed Chang) late this year to begin recording their first full-length album.

Travis is officially leaving Kill Closet but has agreed to finish playing our current bookings. If we find someone who can get a set down quickly they can take over doing shows as soon as they are ready. We have some people in mind but are accepting open auditions for anyone interested. You must be a double bass monster with excellent stamina, a pro attitude (no heading to the stage drunk, arrogance or negative energy etc...) & be ready to have as much fun as humanly possible.
