    charles's Interests
Generalmusic, cribbage, reading, drinking beer in a pool hall. finding a private place to soak up the sun in the buff. how about a little treasure hunting, or just finding some coins, with the metal detector. going to burning man this summer http://www.eere.energy.gov/solar_decathlon/ new toy.... a sun oven from www.sunoven.com i had always wanted one and this was one of those ebay things. make me an offer.... and he took it. at less than cost. alternative energy, my truck runs on biodiesel. i live off solar generated electricity.
Musiceclectic, 1 bluegrass 2 classical 3 smooth jazz 4 celtic/cape briton 5 country. though the truck radio is on country 98% of teh time.
Moviesnope, do not own a tv , nor go to movies using solar power is my everyday movie. i am running several systems. all currently on 12 volt. first , on the upper truck rack are 5 kc 120's. they are feed into a solar boost 50 amp[ blue sky now] controller. which in turn charges 6-100 amp agm [absorbed glass mat] batteries. with ac being produced by a vanner 1500 watt , pure sine wave inverter. second tier on the tack there are 2 shell 75's .then 2 small 28 watt evergreens. this is going through a shell 22 amp [private label of a specialty concepts inc.]. this is also feeding the 6 truck batteries. for when i need that little extra on cloudy days. or when i get foolish and run my 2.66 amp, 316 watts for the refridgerator. on the trailer i have 2 85 amp , agm batteries made by power batteries.they are being powered with 2 shell 55 watt panels. for a controller i have a siemens 16 amp, again a private label version of the asc[potted type made by sci]. on the ground i have a mismash. i have two used [reconditioned] interstate 105 amp trolling motor batteries. the panels are, a kc 50 watt, a unisolar 64, a kc 62.5 and an evergreen 28. they all are using seperate controllers. a couple morningstar sunsaver 10 amp , a sunlight 20 amp... for the night lights. and a lyecomm, that came with the uni, not sure its rated size, it is out of production and no specs on it. the inverter off this is one that is private labeled for checker auto parts. it has a couple neat features not normally found on 'cheap' inverters. the fan only runs where there is a load. which of course cuts down the 'standby' power usage to almost nothing. also it has an external fuse. i dont know how many vector brand inverters i went through when i started out. the fans failed, if i hooked the up wrong, it blew an internal fuse, and they were garbage. then i have 3 , 33 ah agms , again by power, but these are the cheapy made in china models. i use them for several things. i put one in the bathroom to power a 12 volt fan. that is blowing on a towel that is suspended in a bucket of water. ie. a poor man's evaporative cooler to add a little moisture to the air. and also to catch some of the airborne dust. while one of them sits on the floor of the truck, being charged with a 18 watt , solarex lite panel , run through a morningstar 6 amp controller. this is a bit of an all around use . i use it on the pumps. lots of times it gets used on the air compressor when i see a low tire. also it powers a 12 v fan in the summer. when the truck is off, it keeps air moving , even if like last summer it was 100 plus degrees. another use is with a 12 volt led light . one model i have is sold at kmart.the cost is only 10 bucks. either 10 or 20 leds can be used. then i found one at harbor freight last week for 30 bucks. with 30 leds. i also still use a 12 v flourescent that i bought at big lots. this is suspended over my desk and computer. here in yuma in december of '06 i bought 4 , 26 amp agm's . the thought on these was to place them in a tool chest that i have. that way i could put two, for 52 amps, that are totally portable. as the inverter fits in there also. along with an extension cord. lots of times this unit is used to power the 12 volt water pump that i use to transfer water from my ''go get water , tank' to the house. the city water is run through a 5 micron filter, then another 5 mic but with the charcoal filter. i also have another filter, 30 mic.. that is used to pull out sand and soap from my wash water
Televisiondont own one. having 500+ cd's downloaded onto the laptop is better than any show.

Heroesjohn wayne, chuck norris as walker texas ranger. kick ass and stand up for justice. Dr. Rudolf Diesel Rudolf Diesel, c.1912: "The diesel engine can be fed with vegetable oils and would help considerably in the development of agriculture of the countries which use it...The use of vegetable oils for engine fuels may seem insignificant today. But such oils may become in course of time as important as petroleum and the coal tar products of the present time." "I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait till oil and coal run out before we tackle that." - Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

Wow! Chris didn't bring his kids 'cause it was too loud and I told Jen not to bring Dani for the same reason (she doesn't do well with loud). Kind of amazed to hear you say that but hey, that's cool - was great having Duane onboard :-) We still need to shoot some pool here sometime!!!
