Jeffer P, sat at a table in Jackson Mississippi and explained this
beat to me without the luxury of his drum set. We promised
to get together again and he would play for me. It never
happened....I miss you Jeff, you were an extention of your instrument.

On December 17, 2006, we lost a good man. Scott Mateer was a talented musician and a kind person with a big heart. His memory lives on through this page.
Scott Mateer spent 25 years in the music business. He was a first ballot Grammy nominee in 1990 for Dear Me, recorded by RCA artist Lorrie Morgan. He was the Preacher on the heavy metal classic, Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche. To date, that CD and its follow up have sold nearly 10 Million copies. He spent years programming radio, and used that experience to launch Solarfire Records. Scott's last two albums, Inspirational Jazz and Jingle Jazz, along with a cut from an album which was under development when he died, are featured on this site. His videos and comments about his life, influences and musical style are left on this site so that you can know the talented, funny and kind Scott that we knew.

Hey Shari. I hope your doing well sweetheart. I deleted my other page and now I just have my artist page. Send me a friend request. Give me a call soon. My number is 601 503 0803. Love ya.
Scott, We will miss you dearly. When I was 16 years old with a promising career as a bag boy at Kroger, all I could think of was that I wanted to be on the radio. I grew up listening to you and that made me want to be behind the mic even more. When I was trying to break into the business at a particular radio station back in the day, I found out I had to talk to you about getting in. I though to myself, "There's some good news. There is no way my idol will be interested." I was wrong. You gave me a chance. You believed in me and hired me. I will never forget that. We hate to see you gone, but we know one thing. Not only are you in the hands of God, you are also with your number one fan, your mother. We love you Scott. Thank you for all of the memories!!!
