Errol was our drum machine and it looks like he's being dragged out of retirement at silicon valley to lead us in practices again.
We also have a web site with wicks of information about the band's history etc etc at http://leo1564.co.uk, and a sister site for covers and other oddities at www.myspace.com/chasmos please have a look, and don't forget ethereal visions at www.myspace.com/motleyhall (see friends), for a different vision of our music.

Solar Visions are a bunch of spacey, metally rockers from North East England. They came to be a band when ex-Transmit guitarist/singers Melanie and Mark found themselves living 2 streets away from each other! Mark and Mel then got together with Jeff (bass/vocals), who had often practiced together with Jeff's band Ripley's Cat also re-met co-incidentally near Mark's while walking and the outcome Solar Visions started practicing with "Errol" (a drum machine). After placing an ad in a local paper (unknown to Errol to save his feelings) the 3 then met Nick a drummer who we hoped we could at least get some gigs with; fortunately for Nick, though not for the band, he recently became a dad, again! so his time with us was short-lived and we are looking for a new drummer.
Now Mel, Jeff and Mark are busy recording and still rehearsing our ever-changing setlist for gigs, again in NE England, tho anywhere would be nice! We are influenced by psychedelic, spacey, punk, metal and all kinds of rock music and having a damn good time exploring our own sound wrapped up in all of that. We hope you like the music and if you live anywhere near keep up with and come to a few forthcoming gigs (when we have some, like!) Keep watching for gig details! Tara 4 now...

Recorded:
live on March 16, 2003 at the Beta Lounge in San Francisco
In
1967, San Francisco’s Fifty
Foot Hose were certainly one of the innovators of a sound that
took Psychedelia to new heights and was captured on the band’s one
record, Cauldron. They are a totally unique hybrid—on one
hand pulsating bay area acid rock, on the other, fractured electronic
freakery, becoming one whole cohesive being. The sci-fi-ish video
game-like artwork hinted at the sounds within, as did the Limelight
label’s pedigree for truly progressive sounds. Band leader, Cork
Marcheschi, used homemade electronic devices to create crude and
experimental soundscapes and instrumental compositions that were
sprinkled throughout the album.
Often starting shows with a
swelling rumble that exploded into the first song, they soon
developed a rabid following on the SF scene, though there was the
occasional totally wrong gig, like when a very-pregnant Nancy had to
perform at a Catholic Girls’ school! Still, the group wowed the
crowds, performing with greats like Chuck
Berry and Fairport
Convention.
